Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

Prague & Tatra Mountains family holiday, independent reviews

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Climbing up the Tatra Mountains to be within sight of the Polish border.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take a good phrase book for Slovakia or brush up your German on food and drink because many of the local restaurants have no one who speaks English and the Menu is not translated into English, so without this your choice of restaurant is very limited, which means you miss out on some real gems of local village life.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, but there was scope for more. The hotel we stayed at got most of our custom and most of the excursion destinations were very busy and so we felt our spending would not make much of a positive difference. The horse and cart drive was the best bit of Green tourism. The mileage on the coach could have been reduced by altering the itinerary so we caused less pollution. In Slovakia we should have been helped/ allowed to use the local buses and public transport.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Some good points, but a night sleeper on both legs of the journey: in which sleep was elusive for all but the youngest travellers, meant that for us the holiday was marred by tiredness on too many days and some interesting scenery was never seen.
