Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Hmmmm difficult one!! There were many memorable & exciting parts. Just standing on the Antarctic continent for one! Getting close to wildlife. (Actually it was more like wildlife getting close to you - if you sat down penguins would walk right up to you & check you out.) Standing on the bridge of the ship watching the forces of nature during a storm. Being fortunate enough to be in a group of lovely people on the expedition.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take plenty of memory for digital photos (films if using non-digital). Don't hire your outdoor gear unless you really have to. Get as involved as you possibly can in activities etc.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

For the most part local people don't really come into it - altho I think the British Antarctic Survey guys enjoyed the distraction of attending the ships BBQ at Krytwikken, S Georgia ;-). Our guides - wonderfully enthusiastic, knowledgeable people - gave us strict instructions on how to behave around wildlife and we were given a talk on rules & regs. It sounds oppressive - but honest it wasn't. Both guides & crew made every effort to minimise the environmental impact.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Am selling my sisters on Ebay to help raise funds to do it all over again ;-)
Seriously tho - wow!!!!

Landing on Danger Islands. We got our first real taste of the Antarctic Continent and got beautiful weather. The view of the sea and icebergs was breathtaking.

Set your expectations high and you stiil won't be disappointed because nothing prepares you for a trip to the Antarctic, South Georgia and The Falklands. The latter 2 are well worth taking in. Do not skimp on this holiday, of all the holidays you will ever take.
