1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Reaching Annapurna Base Camp, of course. After four days of hard slog the view made it all worth while. Also, the city tour of Kathmandu showed us more than we thought possible in a day.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Definitely use this operator for a start - they couldn’t have been more helpful, giving us all the information we needed, sorting out taxis and equipment, and even taking us out for a meal when we arrived - Thanks Bipin! Unbelievably good price too! We had a few days rest in Pokhara after our trek, a great place to relax, and put back on all the weight you’ve lost during the trek with the most amazing food.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Certainly. We purified our own water and had wonderful meals from the tea houses on the way - its amazing what you can cook at 4000 metres. Although we had our share of Dhal Bhat, I recommend the Tuna Pizza washed down with a cold beer ! We also took along a lot of children’s clothes to donate to local communities which we had collected from friends - Nima our guide helped us get them to where they were needed.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Wonderful - hard work, but really interesting, and relaxing as well. A perfect mix. We will definitely return to do the Everest trek and we will definitely use this operator again. Thanks to everyone involved.
