Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The best moments was climbing up the active volcano near Antigua in Guatemala. It was a hard climb but worth it when you taste the marshmallows toasted on the flowing Lava.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Check out the rainy seasons, there were a few activities we could not do due to non stop 2 day rain. Would also definitely add days at the end of the tour to enjoy Playa del carmen as day 15 is a 12 hour bus journey.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, we used local transport & stayed in locally owned accommodation throughout.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I had a brilliant time and didn't want to come home.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Seeing the wonderful Mayan sites, but also the Mayans ' lives in the present time.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for some long days travelling. Tipping is expected for everyone - so what you have already paid isn't what you will end up paying. So much of a great holiday depends on getting a great tour leader, ours wasn't so good but we met some interesting local guides.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, the local payment was used to buy services locally. And of course we helped by shopping.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I'm very glad I went, and it was generally quite well-organised. Our leader lacked that extra something, and we ended up doing a lot of research ourselves. With a good leader it would have been fantastic. It would also have helped if some things were explained before we arrived - such as long travel days, and tipping expectations. I think the itinerary could have been better organised, perhaps by taking overnight buses to minimize wasting whole days on the road and then having hardly any time in the towns to see them.
