Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

Day tours in the Gambia, independent reviews

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We loved the Gambia and really enjoyed the camel ride at Tange - especially our 6 year old. The tour operator is extremely professional. The guide and the driver were just lovely and took lots of photos of us.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

This is a great excursion for kids and it's nice to have something organised before you get to the Gambia. Once you're there it's easy enough to arrange too. Be warned: part of your ride will take you across the beach where local people catch and smoke fish. It's a bit like riding a camel down Oxford Street - except that here nobody minds and some people even wave!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Anything which fuels tourism will benefit the local economy - which seems to be based largely on tourism. The camels seem very well looked after.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very good trip. Our son is still raving about it.
