Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Having the opportunity to interact with local people in Tanzania, to use my initiative and to do the kind of voluntary activities that I wanted to do, within the framework provided by the charity. I went to Tanzania not expecting to feel I'd made a difference in any way at the end of one month. And in that respect, as well as in so many others, it vastly exceeded my expectations. I felt like I had really achieved something in the village, that I had made a difference to certain people and to the way HIV/Aids was addressed in the community. And I felt that people recognised and valued the contribution I had made.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
To just go and do it! This holiday will be one of the most rewarding, enlightening and unforgettable experiences in your life. You will receive an incredibly warm welcome into the village, and it will have come to feel like home by the time you leave. Tanzania is a staggeringly beautiful country, and this holiday enables you to appreciate it at its very best, while doing something tangible to help the lives of those that live there.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes I did, very much so. The charity is both Tanzanian and British, and employs local staff who you work closely alongside. The community is very much involved in the work that is undertaken, and there is a real sense of partnership with local people and the village administration. This means that the work it does really makes a difference and responds to local needs. And you have the opportunity to be involved in that. The charity welcomes new ideas, initiatives and creativity, which means you have the chance to really make your mark on the work they do!
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Absolutely amazing! I will never, ever forget my month in Tanzania, and I get goosebumps ever time I look back at photos of my time there. I had the privilege to meet and work with so many wonderful people, to live a real Tanzanian lifestyle for a month and to integrate into local life, to learn so much about the country and its culture, and to have so many of my preconceptions fundamentally challenged. I felt safe, I felt valued, I felt inspired every moment of every day. This experience was one of the best things I have ever done in my life, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
