Lake District family activity holiday, independent reviews

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Going sailing - for the first time in my life - round Derwentwater on a perfect summer day. (Though I did so many new things on the holiday that there are lots of memorable experiences.)
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Pack quite a lot of changes of clothes as even if the weather is fine you will get wet! Keswick has an excellent theatre and cinema, so you can do culture as well as exploring the countryside.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
It was good to travel in minibuses rather than by car, and the distances travelled were fairly short. Our guides were very good at recommending local restaurants and pubs. Keswick is also full of independent shops rather than big chainstores, so money spent by holidaymakers does benefit the community. It also made me realise that there is no need to fly abroad to find beautiful landscape....
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
My partner and child had a great time - and so did I. I've come back determined to go sailing again, and also to revisit the Lake District.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The opportunity to try new things with the children - the leap off a rock into a small pool during the ghyll scrambling was fabulous, and scary.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
All activities great for all family members - our party was 8 to adult and all had a great time.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had a fabulous week. Good accommodation, great guides and lots of adventure.
