Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

Bali adventure holiday, independent reviews

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Snorkelling, climbing the volcano and learning about the particular kind of Hinduism practised in Bali.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Try and have an extra day in Ubud (the starting place), either before or after - there's lots to see there and around, the hotel is beautiful and there is a good choice of cheaper accommodation too. Hire a bike!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

To a certain extent, as local guides were used, but tourism is so big in Bali that it seems to be what many people survive on anyway. We used 2 minivans for transport, so that's not particularly environmentally friendly, but hard to see what alternatives there could be as there is little public transport.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

We saw beautiful landscapes and temples and interesting sights, but were a bit disappointed with some of the local guides who though friendly and polite, didn't speak enough English to explain what we were seeing. Also there were some quite long drives, and more stops along the way for refreshments, temple visits etc would have been good.
