Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The train journey to reach the retreat and the activities we chose to do.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be aware that there is no much to do at the retreat, apart from reading and relaxing. It gets dark at 2 so after that, unless you want to go for a walk in the dark, it's better to stay in.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Good.

Hello Titti. Thank-you for the comments - We are sorry to hear that your experience with us did not completely meet your expectations. We strive to be clear and honest about what we offer and our destination in our client contact and marketing material and we sincerely regret if we, in anyway, contributed to creating a false expectation.

There are, indeed, short daylight hours in Lapland in late November, the time of your trip. The holiday is available earlier in the autumn if guests want to avoid this. In September there is daylight from about 6 am - 7 pm.

The retreat guesthouse is meant to be a quiet escape. We are located in a small village and there is not much “to do”, aside from being in nature or relaxing at the guesthouse. We offer a good range of guided activities for those who want a more active break.
