The whole experience was so memorable, cannot remember the last time I really did not want to come home from a holiday. For myself, the most memorable part was the final morning and being trusted to go out alone with Claire for an hour's fast / experienced ride, galloping over the Irish hills was awesome. For my daughter, being able to join in caring for the horses was the best bit.

We received a warm welcome and even though there was never a spare moment, Claire was always friendly and made us feel involved and welcome no matter how busy and the home cooked meals were superb!! The horses were well cared for, well treated, part of the family and very much respected. The whole set up is respectful and beneficial to the environment and the community, a pleasure to see and experience.

My tips to other travellers? Relax, enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. This is not a hotel, its a hands on working stables, have respect and don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but do expect a big warm welcome, good food, and very friendly atmosphere.

My rating?... I am most definitely REBORN, a BIG five star thank you for an amazing experience... we hope to go back again this summer.

For all those who are horsey-minded (plus those, like me, who are not particularly but want to give it a go), this is the most fabulous place to stay. My daughter was in seventh heaven and although only six, managed to ride independently up and down the local hills, as well as joining in with the stable cleaning. She was very sad to leave, so we hope to return soon.

What I would recommend is that you try if possible to have a car with you, so that you can get out to see the local sites. Even if the weather is wet (which it was for us most days) you can still ride, or walk, and Clare's warmth and hospitality more than makes up for any rain!! What comes across most strongly, is the respectful treatment of the horses, and the sense of calm and peace around the place. Well recommended.
