Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

All the items on this list were equally wonderful. 1. The warmth of Janny and Fred who open their homes and hearts to us lucky guests. 2. The fantastic meals - delicious. I am on a dairy-free, soya-free, wheat-free diet and this was "no problem" to Fred. 3. The natural beauty of the gardens. 4. The rejuvenating and refreshing treatments. 5. The company of fellow-holiday makers; we all sat around a big table at mealtimes and shared a bottle of wine.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. The food was locally produce - as much as possible. Local therapists are employed to give treatments. I choose to book full-board and therefore it was not necessary to travel during my stay.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

I loved every minute of it.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Regretfully, when we arrived it was so damp (high elevation) that I had an asthma attack and couldn't stay in residence. We stayed locally in Bantry proper & returned for meals with friends who stayed there. The accommodation was very basic. The atmosphere very laid-back. The owners very obliging. The food very wholesome. (Organic - much of it grown on site). A little bit over-priced, but I thought worth it.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

If you go during the 'wet season' - seemingly most of the time - don’t have asthma.
When you plan your trip, have a back-up plan. When asking for information from 'locals', always ask a second time and you may get the same answer, if you are lucky! We were told that if you asked 3 people and got 2 similar answers, you're onto a winner.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. Although we used public transport in Dublin, we had to use a vehicle to tour.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Had the weather been better for longer, that would have made a real difference.
