Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Difficult to choose as there were several highlights. From a holiday perspective the four days on the Inca trail were very memorable. However, the most lasting memory will probably be our stay on Amantani Island on Lake TitiKaka. We stayed with a family without water and electricity and it was both enjoyable as well as being an eye opener.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
To get the most out of this holiday put in the work. For example, Machu Picchu is a magical place which inevitably is also a bit touristy. If you arrive by train it will be good, but if you arrive on foot then you will feel how it must have been like to arrive there when it was first built. You also capture some of the excitement that must have been felt when it was rediscovered. Likewise it is nice to stay in the modern hotels and travel on the trains, but let your guides take you to the markets and try and fit in a stay with a local family to get an idea of life in Peru.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Definitely. All our guides were both very well informed and passionate about the environment. For our stay on Amantani we were given t he option of staying in either slightly more comfortable or basic accommodation. Our particular host had not had a visitor for 3 years and it was good to know she would benefit. We have also pledged to help the particular individual.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The best we have ever had.
