1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The island was breathtakingly beautiful and because it is a protected area will remain unspoiled. The guides/trainers - in fact everybody responsible for running the program - were incredibly supportive, kind and friendly. Physically I found some of the hikes a bit challenging but everybody went way beyond to make sure that I got the most from my holiday. The accommodations were authentically rustic, in keeping with the nature of an ecolodge, but all modern conveniences were provided. The ambience was wonderful and the capoeira and samba evenings offered a true taste of Brazilian culture. The food was wonderful, amazing what great creations come from all natural ingredients! I just had a marvellous time.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Read the website carefully- everything is laid out there, and pay attention to the items you are advised to bring with you.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, the program directors and employees are very ecologically aware. Also any shopping we did, mostly for souvenirs and gifts was done in the main village and directly benefited the local people.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
An all round 5 star vacation. Would definitely go again.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
So much was memorable. I could have lain in my hammock looking across the water and at the beach for hours (far too much going on for that to happen though!). For me though I probably derived the most pleasure from kayaking around the beautiful coves and beaches.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Come prepared to embrace everything - even the occasional rain.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Absolutely.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Exceeded expectations. I'm very keen to return. I benefited physically, mentally and socially.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
I can think of no better place for complete mental relaxation than a week's Island Experience. The days are packed with hiking and kayaking but you are rewarded with a blissful massage and an hour of yoga to 'wind down' at the end of the day. And what nicer way to wake up in the morning than with yoga on the deck to the sounds of the sea. It was blissful. The whole atmosphere is of harmony and cooperation and you feel so well looked after, I just loved it!
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Although the hikes are tailored to suit your fitness level, they can be challenging if you are very out of shape. A bit of preparation on my part would have eased me into the activities more quickly. That said, the guides were wonderful, supportive and patient and an absolute shining example of fitness and healthy lifestyle. I came back feeling on top of the world, full of resolve to keep up the 'good work'!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
Yes, nearly all the staff are local and they are as green as can be!
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Ihla Grandhe is paradise, the lodge is an oasis of tranquility. I would recommend unreservedly. If you fancy nightlife, I would recommend a few days in Rio to finish up.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The whole trip was memorable, from waking up to the sound of the sea every morning, to the care and attention lavished on us by the team, to the yummy breakfasts each morning... the list goes on. The effort and dedication by the team to make the Programme a truly personal experience was really evident and made the whole trip memorable.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Read the web site and be prepared for the programme! It is really challenging and thoroughly enjoyable but it would have helped me to be better prepared for some of the activities. Also, follow the team's advice on essential items to take and take enough pairs of clothes!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
I felt that the trip was designed to minimally impact the environment and because of where the lodge is situated and the set up of the lodge, I didn't feel like we were having a negative impact / effect on the local community or surroundings. The team and the lodge blend into the nature and setting so well that you feel like you are part of the island!
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was brilliant. Physically challenging and really rewarding to be able to say I completed the Programme successfully. Mentally liberating as the island and the lodge are so peaceful and calming. I also felt completely taken care of by the team and I felt that they looked out for all my needs - through food, activities, entertainment and just generally designing a programme that was so well tailored to my needs. It was the complete break I needed and they do a great job of wanting to make you go back to Ilha Grande again!
