1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The most exciting part of the trip was probably the stay in the National Park. The Riverside Cottages at Khao Sok were wonderful and the activities we could do there were great: elephant safari, jungle trek and tubing down the river was awesome.

The most memorable part of the trip was the Tsunami volunteer work, particularly meeting the people of Ban Talae Nok, the women's soap collective and playing with the children. The homestay was memorable also, both for good and not so good reasons! (outside loo being the downside in a blowing gale in the middle of the night).

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Other tips to travelers: do you really need stuff like hair straighteners, and other beauty gadgets (as some of our group did) it's just not that sort of trip. The toilets are very different and basic from European toilets and this can be a bit of a shock, particularly for women. Take tissues and wipes with you.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes the trip did appear to benefit local people - a) spending money and not haggling too much, b) volunteer work, although this was a small drip of a contribution. It raised my awareness of things and hopefully fundraising back in the UK will be an ongoing source of support. Minimum impact on the environment I think.
