Holiday Reviews
We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
This vacation was a boundless treasure trove of delights! To select just one would be to take away from all the other magnificent centres in this delightful box of chocolates! One special moment I shall remember is the magnificent braai organised in Scotia Park after a days game watching. The personal attention of the ranger, the quality and quantity of the food, the free bar, the kindness, the gentle music played around the campfire and the intimacy of the environment made this braai an unforgettable high.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Firstly, don’t be afraid of the South African winter. The weather can indeed be variable, but we experienced almost no rain and many days were over 20 degrees. Secondly, have no fears about bringing children as this is a very safe holiday. Thirdly the guides and drivers are so warm, helpful and charming that they make everyone's time happy. They interact well with children, involve them in everything, they take part in every activity and are a limitless pool of energy and knowledge. Finally, it is always necessary to remember that you are sharing your holiday with other families, some you will love others you may not always get on with, try to be sociable and fun and steer clear of controversy, but don’t always expect every other guest to be like yourself, or to always be nice!
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?
It is clear every day that the operator care deeply about the environment. Drivers and guides continually remind people of the need to care for nature and the environment, including not touching or feeding the animals, not littering, not picking the flowers and by staying in hotels that are environmentally friendly. One downside was that we had an ostrich riding day which I felt was slightly cruel as the ostriches clearly did not want to take part and some of their handling was unpleasant. Also we stayed at one farmhouse which was otherwise fantastic but served only ostrich meat for dinner.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The holiday was an unmitigated success. It was tiring as there are plenty of early starts, a myriad of activities some tiring and plenty of driving, but also the bountiful breakfasts and dinners were also a joy but tiring. We were so well cared for and the experiences so varied and enjoyable that we will definitely be booking a similar holiday again and South Africa will remain on the top of our lists of holiday vacations for many years to come. Thanks to this operator!
