Holiday Reviews

We invite every traveller who books a holiday via us to send in a review. Because we don't run the holidays they're completely independent and unedited... remember to read between the lines though, as two people on the same trip can have different views!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Diving on the wrecks in the bay, pleasant evenings spent with a glass of wine overlooking the water and our great hosts Cinzia and Maurizio.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Hire a car as you can get out and see more beautiful spots around the island. Cinzia gave us some great tips.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes, the apartment is close enough to town that the walk is easy yet it is lovely and peaceful. Also a great local shop around the corner selling local specialty cheeses and meats.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Diving the KT12. A well preserved wreck in good viz, warm water and plenty of sea life. First class dive team at the centre who look after you but also allow an appropriate level of independence. Sardinia is not a primary diving destination, so you do not feel that you are on a conveyor belt and the dive sites are not crowded, but the quality is good.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

You really need to be AOW or qualified to dive to 30m to get the best from the diving. My daughter had some training with the tour operator and I was impressed by the standard; should be a good place to do referrals or more advanced courses. A car is useful as there is much else to see on the island

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Difficult to comment, not really my area.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent. Cala Gonone is a beautiful place with plenty of bars and restaurants. The diving was completed by 1 - 1.30 so leaving plenty of time to do other things; very useful if you have any non divers holidaying with you.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The beautiful coastal village which was alive and yet peaceful. The Sardinians I met. The Jazz Festival which was on that week.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't go for the diving which is quite uninspiring. Very little marine life.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes insofar as tourism is a major earner for Sardinia.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very good but disappointing for diving.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

When the diver teacher showed my son into a very special cave. The light and clarity of the sea, the friendly team who made every effort to make our holiday special.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take a car if you want to explore Sardinia.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes. There was no waste as far as we could see and the hotel we stayed in was actually designed by the architect owner and very special.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Really lovely and friendly.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Learning to dive; going under water each day and seeing a new world.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make a better effort than I did to explore a bit further than the town centre!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very enjoyable. Cala Gonone is beautiful, and the sea around it even more so. The people at the dive centre were extremely friendly and helpful, and the weather was fabulous.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Being surrounded by blue fins while diving a WWII wreck.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Get in touch with the centre first as they offer some really cool things not on the site.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Definitely.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

It was all great! The diving was very good - warm, clear waters, with small dive groups, and experienced friendly dive crew. The weather was warm and the town small and friendly.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Not much nightlife in Cala Gonone, but a nice clean beach (not sand, but tiny pebbles, so pretty close!). Accommodation basic, no air conditioning, but a great balcony and but wonderfully friendly hosts.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

A great, relaxing holiday, with very friendly hosts. Cinzia and Maurizio were so friendly and helpful with everything we needed and helped make our stay memorable.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

The amazing Sardinian landscape and history, plus driving the hairpin roads down the mountainside

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

The scuba diving is well-organised and very professionally taught, and some of our group completely
loved it, but it was more physically demanding than I expected and I found it really hard work - but the
apartment was glorious, the weather great and the people really friendly, with lots of time to do other
things as well.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes I think so - the apartment had more sophisticated re-cycling than we have at home, and the local
produce was great

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Very enjoyable, especially the apartment which was lovely
