1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Diving although the food was great too. Il Cormoranzo by the port was where we ate most and they provided a vegetarian menu for my sister as well as an introduction to local specialties. Despite our very pidgin Italian!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Make sure you get the right bus from the airport! If not hiring a car. The bus is actually fine and a great way to go if you're staying on one place. However, again partly due to our poor Italian we got one going to Nuoro which while I'm sure a lovely place is about 40km from Cala Gonone and we had to finish our journey in style by taxi or wait 2 hrs for the next bus and lose a half day of our short break. NB The only cashpoint was broken a few months ago. Some places do take credit cards but a stock of cash is essential particularly if not hiring a car.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

We stayed in lovely self-catering accommodation owned by the company and kept up by them. Local dining opportunities did seem to offer fish from the vicinity and other regional specialties. We were there out of season but it felt like we visited a very thriving small town in its own right, so we used the same facilities as the locals.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Great! It was *very* warm even in June, but that was manageable by organising the day so as to rest in the middle. The diving was very flexible and went at our pace. I'd go back again - I'm hoping to finish some more advanced diving courses there.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Brilliant scenery, great underwater wildlife and quiet roads. Cala Garone is absolutely idyllic in October.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Take mosquito repellent, they are vicious.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment?

Yes.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Scuba instructor was excellent, especially with my 11 year old, who passed the scuba open water diver. He was very patient and encouraging.
