Lying just a kilometre and a half off Union Island, Palm Island is a private resort of villas and residences. It is a low-lying island of a half square kilometre with one small hill to the west and a large lagoon in the centre.
Palm Island used to be called Prune Island but acquired its name after the first private owners planted the hundreds of coconut palm trees that now dominate the skyline.
There are three nature trails weaving across the island where walkers may see indigenous iguanas and bird life. The coast is almost completely surrounded by five white sand beaches with wonderful views of the other islands in the Grenadines archipelago.
There is restricted access to the island for non-residents.
