Those of us who are fortunate to live in the St. Vincent & The Grenadines place great value on our pristine environments and wonderful cultural heritage.

White sandy beach, St Vincent & The Grenadines Visitors discover a friendly, quieter and more authentic Caribbean experience, quite different to other more developed Caribbean islands. We want it to stay that way.

Responsible tourism provides tourists with more enjoyable experiences and helps create jobs, incomes and livelihoods for local communities. It also minimises any negative environmental or cultural impacts from tourism and helps us make our Islands even more magical places to live in and to visit.

La Soufriere Volcano I'm committed to making St. Vincent & The Grenadines the greenest and most responsible tourism destination in the Caribbean and the strategic long term decisions we are making concerning tourism investment and development reflect this committment.

As a start we've created this new site for visitors. It reflects our commitment to responsible tourism, and is quite unique in The Caribbean and indeed, worldwide.

Carnival on St Vincent You will notice that we've ONLY featured hotels and tour companies that have clear policies to reduce energy consumption and waste - and to employ local staff, source local produce and support local conservation projects. No other tourist board site does this.

In addition, on the site you will find videos and podcasts with tips from some of our local residents - who better to give you the inside track on things to see and do and our culture and history than people who live here!

Scuba diving in St. Vincent & The Grenadines As part of our long-term sustainable tourism strategy we are also undertaking an EU funded Tourism Development Project. Five million euros has helped establish a National Parks Authority (NPA) and 19 of our iconic natural wonders are being carefully developed so that visitors can properly enjoy snorkeling with turtles in the Tobago Cays, swimming in the 60-foot cascade of the Falls of Baleine, hiking on the Vermont Nature Trail and visiting the extraordinary Owia Salt Ponds. The key to this project is that it develops sustainable growth, which increases employment and spreads the benefit of tourism to local communities.

St. Vincent & The Grenadines Minister of Tourism, Glen Beache I'd like to personally invite you to visit St. Vincent & The Grenadines. I'm confident that you'll find the Caribbean you've been looking for here. Join us in celebrating a very special place, and in keeping it that way.

Minister of Tourism
