How Pereira coffee day tour, Zona Cafetera, Colombia makes a difference
Environment
We focus on ecotourism, providing you with exciting off the beaten path tours and destinations! We aren’t big into tourist traps or crowded theme parks – we prefer to commune with nature, spend time with and learn about cultural treasures from local natives, and search for the hidden gems of Colombia – of which there are many! Most of our providers are Colombian natives – we strive to support local economies! Our goal is to promote wellness of mind, body and spirit in Colombia and the world – one unique travel experience at a time! We offer carbon offset for the entire trip through a partnership with a reforestation project in Colombia. You can go visit your trees which are making it so that your trip is carbon neutral! Environment protection is crucial in Colombia, thus, we campaign against mining, gold and carbon exploration and other exploits that destroy the environment.
Community
We work with our providers to support them in sustainable practices such as water and energy conservation, using bio diesel rather than petroleum, organic farming, green building, and promotion of personal and communal health and wellness. We collaborate with travel outfitters and foundations to preserve Colombia’s vast biodiversity, rich cultural heritage and local economies. We notify tourists that trafficking, exploitation and sexual abuse of minors in Colombia has criminal and administrative sanctions under existing laws. Colombia Eco Travel supports and adheres to the provisions of the national government in this regard. The focus of our company is to protect local economies and promote ecological stewardship. We hand pick suppliers that match our environmental values, and if they don't, we help them reach their sustainability goals. Travel with us is an authentic experience because the community is authentic. We know where to find all things local and we support/ recommend our neighbours, spreading tourism income to those most in need. We offer local people good working conditions, a fair wage, and empower them with training opportunities. We work to create good relationships between tourists and the local community.
