"There are 2 separate worlds within the Red Sea area of Egypt; one is the hot, dry and dusty vastness of the Sinai desert and mountains, a complete contrast to the world below the water. The latter would be my chosen escape, where a spectacular array of colourful sea-life of all shapes and sizes busy themselves among corals seemingly unaware of the world above."

Learn to scuba dive in the Red Sea
This PADI 5 star Gold Palm Resort is set on the shores of the famous Eel Garden dive site in Dahab. A family owned resort which offers bespoke dive holidays for those wanting to leave the crowds behind. With a MAX ratio of 4-1 divers to instructor you will find yourself spoilt while the environment benefits too. One of the most beautiful dive resorts in Dahab, everyone who comes feels like they are staying with family. With the calm and helpful atmosphere, you can’t help but relax.
You can learn to dive here or continue your dive education. We aim to make each diver better by the time they leave, working on any aspect which you need help with, for example air consumption and buoyancy techniques.
Specialised Customised Service - We offer a very special customised dive holiday service - ideal for those who don't wish to be lumped together with other divers of incompatible levels, wanting to learn at their own pace with small numbers(4-1) or on a one to one basis. If you are already a diver then we will take you through an initial consultation to refresh the skills you have and work on techniques to improve and fine tune your diving.
Other activities - In addition to the diving, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy such as Camel Dive Safaris, Bedouin Mountain Dinners (where you have a chance to try making your own bread, if you like) Boat Dive Safaris (one day) and day trips into the amazing mountains. There is also a lot to be said for chilling out on our private beach and reading a good book next to the sea under the palm trees! We are an ideal 5-10 minute walk from Dahab's central bay and the Bedouin Village of Assalah.
Sample prices: Guided dives £25 each, equipment hire £25 per day (full dive kit), courses (see below), 1 day camel safari £45 per person (excluding diving). Dive Package of 10 dives available starting from £355, based on 2 sharing and diving together.
PADI Discover Scuba (£45): This is an excellent way for you to see what diving is like, before you commit to a course. A professional PADI dive master or instructor will fully brief you and then take you through some basics skills underwater to make sure you’re comfortable and safe. Then begins an amazing tour in the world of amazing fishes and corals. All you have to do is enjoy the scenery and your PADI Instructor will deal with everything else. This is a good way to start your Open Water Course as the skills completed can be credited towards your Open Water certification too.
PADI Open Water Course (£290): This course typically lasts 4-5 days. It fully covers all aspects of learning to dive in easy to follow modules, via book, DVD, PADI instructor and water work. Skills are learnt initially in shallow water to gain confidence, moving to deeper water (max. 18m.) for the final 4 dives. PADI E-Learning means you can do all your theory before you come on holiday.
PADI Advanced Course (£195): This course consists of five dives (2-3 days), two of which are mandatory: Deep and Navigation. The other three dives can be chosen by you and your instructor. Here we have made the Peak Performance Buoyancy dive mandatory as it is such an important skill for protecting the environment and yourself. Other dives include: Night, Naturalist, Digital Photography, and Drift. Three dives only from this course will make you a PADI Adventure Diver.
PADI EFR Course (£57): This will teach you the most important aspects of First Aid and dealing with accidents in a methodical way, including life saving techniques such as CPR and defibrillator use. This course can be done in one day or over a couple of evenings and, as a non-diving course, can be taken by anyone interested.
E-Learning: We are happy to be able to offer a fast track way to complete your Open Water and Advanced Courses. PADI E-learning means you can complete the PADI knowledge reviews at home online before you come. This means that your course work will be complete before you get here...no homework on holiday!
We have six Chalet style rooms; four of which are set within the grounds with the other two enjoying Sea Views. We also have two suites, both with two bedrooms and a bathroom which are ideal for families or for friends wishing to share. Both suites also enjoy Sea Views.
The rooms have been built with clean, simple designs aimed to reflect the natural beauty of the Sinai. All rooms have private bathrooms with showers. All rooms have Air Con too, but we do ask you not to use it too low and to turn it off before you leave your room.
Prices (including breakfast): Accommodation is offered on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Garden chalets are £30 per night and sea view chalets are £40 per night, both prices are based on two people sharing. Our family suites are £65 per night.

We employ Egyptian, Bedouin and Nubian workers as our full time team here. Local Bedouins run our dive cars, Camel Safaris and all the trips we do. We consider our Bedouin friends to be an extension of our family. Our eldest daughter Nadia is very aware of how precious this environment is and as she is bi-lingual, is able to chat away to the local Bedouin kids about why it is wrong to fish, why not to throw rubbish in the sea etc and is very effective, if a bit fierce sometimes. This is the only way, via the kids, as the adults are too stuck in their ways to want to change. We ask help of the local kids with our annual pick up in September. We pick rubbish from the beach at every site we go to and from underwater. We do presentations to the local schools about responsible behaviour towards the sea and hand out the Arabic version of the Project Aware brochure so that hopefully the message spreads even further. Environment We re-use and then re-cycle all our plastic bottles and all left over food is fed to the local goats. We encourage reduced use of Air Con systems and ask you to switch them off when not there. We provide a cotton shopping bag to all our guests to reduce plastic bag use. These bags are also used by our team when shopping for groceries. We only clean rooms on request, no unnecessary washing. All watering of our garden is done with recycled water from the dive rinse pool. We use fish caught in deep sustainable waters only. We post environment advise in all our rooms of how to reduce your impact on the environment whilst you are here in Dahab. We strive to ‘make a difference’ to the environment with our diving. With a MAX ratio of 4-1 divers to guide, means that we can control our divers and make sure they do no damage, dramatically reducing the impact of our divers on the reef. All our instructors are aware of the importance of protecting the reef and they remove rubbish from underwater, if they see any. This doubles the effect as customers see us taking care of the environment and follow suit and show a good example by removing anything underwater that should not be there. We believe you will come as a guest and leave as a better informed, more responsible, non coral bashing, and more environmentally aware diver. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
