Vietnam luxury beach resort, Banyan Tree

Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

We have continued our commitment to achieve the best practices in environmental and social sustainability. Since 2013, we has partnered with EarthCheck to ensure scientifically proven and critically defendable systems towards environmental preservation and conservation across operations. For the third year in succession, Banyan Tree Lang Cô has been honoured with Silver EarthCheck Certification.

Banyan TreeLang Cô alo runs a cleaning campaign which was first launched in April 2016, calling on all staff to keep Lang Cô clean and protect the surrounding environment.

In 2018, this program was upgraded to the “Green Heart project” with the aim to raise awareness and educate the community about caring for the environment. In this project, children were seen as the key factor in spreading awareness regarding environmental issues to their friends and relatives. Different workshops were conducted each month to help students better understand the environment and possible green initiatives such as garbage classification and recycling. The students were also tasked with taking action to implement their new knowledge to protect the environment.

The Impacts of this Trip

Banyan Tree Lang Co is committed to being a leader of sustainability in Vietnam’s hospitality industry, which is both our ambition and core values. For us, it is not just a responsibility, but also a privilege and opportunity to embrace our environment and support local communities.

Our English Is Fun programme attempts to improve the level of English proficiency in the community, and more importantly to bring the joy and passion of learning English to young children, Banyan TreeLang Cô has developed the annual program named “English is FUN” since 2014.

We also run The Seedlings Program, a vocational training program, providing training and job opportunities for disadvantaged local youth (18 – 24 yrs) and to give them the necessary skills to forge a successful career in the hospitality industry.

Our elderly Care Program was also launched by Banyan Tree Lang Cô in February 2015 with the aim to bring a warmer home to the senior locals with monthly visits from our volunteers.
