Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

Nature is life, everyone should take care of it. Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay has implemented environmentally friendly practices across our hotels and offices.

In terms of our supply chain, we work closely with local suppliers, when possible, and have had them sign our Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy which addresses the scope of our operations including; location and sensitivity of the local environment, environmental and social impacts, activities, products, services and facilities.

Apart from that, we also prioritize green management in every aspect of our operations. All our associates are working towards the goal of reducing consumption rates through improved efficiency and by adopting new technology or practices regarding key operational indicators such as energy; emissions; water, waste and paper use; as well as chemical and pesticide use.

We organise a clean up activity with the local community, guests and associates. The hotel team works with the local community in educating the community and heads out on a regular basis to the beach or local areas to collect rubbish and display plastic pledge canvas for guests and associates to sign, as an acknowledgement towards supporting the environment.

All Associates, and guests sign Plastic Pledge as a show of support. Every year Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay plants around 200 trees in their big green area, as an initiative to share how they can battle the climate change and care for the environment and our beautiful nature.
In our different offices we reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimize the environmental footprint of the Office. Instructions were placed near the facilities and printers. Papers will be recycled.

In the context of “developing local capacity” , the Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay one of the hotels which always gives people an opportunity to improve their knowledge and we try to support them until they achieve their goals. We opened our doors to the Tamouda Bay Institute of Tourism for practical exams, in two subjects, one House Keeping, and the other Kitchen. We had both students and interns to study there.

The Human resources of Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay has launched a partnership with the vocational and promotion of work office (Ministry of Education of Morocco) and the high school of Marseille, the main objective of this partnership is to allow the students to spend 1 to 2 months in the different outlets of the property to develop their skills and knowledge so they can present the results of this internship to their schools to get their high school diploma.
The Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay was honoured by this partnership and have assisted those students during their internship phase. The presence in this event allowed the Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay to share the vision about empowering people and being a key regional player in the destination. Those students apart being evaluated from their teachers have also been evaluated by our Executive team.

While staying at the resort, we encourage our guests to get out and explore the region as much as possible - experiencing local markets, cultural landmarks and festivals - including the Tetouen Women’s Voice festival.
