Scuba diving & elephant conservation in Cambodia

Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

Wildlife: The marine ecosystem we work to monitor and protect is at risk of being destroyed. We work with local and international organisations to increase local seahorse populations and rejuvenate the reef from damaged caused by illegal trawlers. By monitoring endangered animal population numbers, we continue to increase the population of local species and create a safe environment in which they can flourish.

Waste: Rubbish is a huge problem on the island. Litter from the mainland is swept in currents to the island and ends up suffocating local flora and fauna as well as encouraging the spread of disease and creating an unsafe living environment for the locals. We work to clean up the beaches of rubbish - multiple tonnes of garbage are cleared by our volunteers each program. We teach the local community about how to responsibly dispose of their waste. Our approach is to start with teaching the children; using games and activities, and they then pass the lesson on to village members.

Buildings: As the island is isolated from the mainland, accessible healthcare is a necessity for the local community. Our groups work on improving the local medical clinic; renovating, re-painting, cleaning, stocking and landscaping so that the local community have reliable and fully functioning medical access.

Our organisation provides safe and fulfilling opportunities for you to work with village communities and bring real and lasting change to the lives of many.

Volunteers undertake hands on work delivering valuable infrastructure in the areas of education, sanitation and water supply for the benefit of these communities.

Participation in our programs delivers a range of benefits to all participants. The villagers benefit from the new and refurbished infrastructure, the learning opportunities and the friendship and interactions with the volunteers. The volunteers take away a special sense of fulfillment in having made a contribution and a real difference to the lives of others.

In addition our volunteers often make lifelong friendships while involved in experiences that are invaluable in clarifying and assisting in future career goals.

Whenever possible we use local guides, labor and translators so as to add back to the community. We purchase all food and building supplies locally and as much as possible we use environmentally friendly materials.

We endeavour at all times to ensure that we work in as safe an environment as can possibly be arranged. All program venues and equipment are continually monitored to make sure that the highest possible levels of health and safety are met.
