Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

Environment

We know our wildlife, its buried within the roots of our company and it will always be so. It is essential that we preserve the natural habitat and home of these creatures, great and small. We contribute a percentage of each safari sold to wildlife conservation and always keep our eyes peeled for new projects to get involved with.

Our promise is to give our guests a real, once in a life time experience. We believe this comes in the way of tailormade safaris, which does not include large tourists groups or busloads of people. A combination of experiencing local wildlife, nature and culture, which can only be done by the people that know it best, the locals. Therefore, we work closely with our carefully selected local guides and hotels to make sure that all experience are authentic.

Whenever possible we use accommodation that savours every drop of precious water; from using environmentally friendly flushing toilets, saving rain water for washing to using solar power for heating. Accommodation when travelling will vary, but we do it to be as environmentally friendly as possible, promoting the use of locally eco-lodges where we can. Please bear in mind that it is not always possible to find eco-friendly accommodation in some remote destinations. If this is the case then we make every effort to alert the management of the accommodation in question to ways of improving their service with the environment in mind. We try to use shared transfers, minimising the carbon emissions from the vehicles used.

The Loi Suites Iguazu and the rest of their company have designed a sustainability policy that contains programs, objectives, goals and activities in accordance with their mission, vision and values which is the identity of their hotels. Hotels are designed understanding the articulation and synergy that must be observed between the three dimensions of sustainability; business, sociocultural and environment. At the Yacutinga Lodge great care was taken during the construction of the lodge to minimize the negative natural impacts. The lodge features a private nature reserve which focuses on the local forests and the Yacutinga Biological Station where many different projects are being conducted on sustaining this beautiful area.

We aim to reduce waste and our impact on the environment within our destinations and at home in the UK, where our offices are based. We work in partnership with the Borough of Brighton & Hove in an attempt to recycle and reuse as much as possible. Our clients are always advised on the best way to do this when away. We recommend using environmentally friendly shampoos, soaps and toiletries, to avoid leaving any litter (whether its biodegradable or not).

Community

This tailormade safari supports the use of local suppliers in anyway it can. Local guides are always used to teach our guests about the specific area. During your time in Iguassu Falls National Park, a local guide will take you to both the furthest and largest points and also to the Brazilian side. This safari gives guests the opportunity to try local cuisines, meet the local people and to find out more about the local wildlife. This in turn will encourage guests to think about giving back to the local communities and will give them the opportunity to learn about how they can help to protect the wildlife.

The Loi Suites Iguazu and company participates in the UNICEF International Champaign for the Prevention and Eradication of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of girls, boys and adolescents. They also take part in the sustainable and integral development of the local community. Supporting and respecting human rights and the collaborators of the entire community. The food provided to the Yacutinga Lodge is all locally sourced from the neighbouring farmers who do not use chemicals.
