Responsible tourism: Argentina country tour, tailor made

Our promise is to give our guests a real, once in a life time experience. We believe this comes in the way of tailor made safaris; no large tourist groups or busloads of people. A combination of experiencing local wildlife and nature is what we do best.

The hotels that our guests stay in are surrounded by nature. We have chosen Puerto Valle Hotel in Ibera Wetlands because it is a small scale hotel, just 13 bedrooms, set in a magnificent park of more than 14 hectares, which was meticulously designed by a local Argentine landscaper.

We work closely with our carefully selected local guides and hotels, to make sure that all experiences are authentic. We want our guests to be educated on the local wildlife and culture, which can only be done by the people who know it best, the locals.

During the guests time in the Ibera Wetlands we take them to visit a tree nursery. The nursery produces more than 4 million seedlings of eucalyptus, Grevillea, kiri and yerba mate per year. These specimens are used for forestry plantation under Forest Stewardship Council standards, which require adherence to the highest social and environmental practices. We believe this tour of the nursery will educate our guests on the important role trees have in our environment.

Although the accommodation through Argentina will vary we try to use environmentally friendly hotels as often as we can. For example Yacutinga Lodge Hotel, deep in the Argentine Jungle, use materials collected from the site, such as rocks and fallen trees to decorate the area.

This tailor made safari supports the use of local suppliers in any way it can. Whether that is through the use of local ingredients in the cuisines served at many of the hotels, including Puerto Valle Hotel. Here they have an organic garden on site where herbs and vegetables are grown. Locally sourced ingredients such as river fish and fruits are also part of the local recipes served to guests.

Local guides are always used to teach our guests about the specific area. During their time in Iguassu Falls National Park, a local guide will take them to both the furthest and largest point and the Brazilian side.

This safari gives guests the opportunity to try local cuisines, meet local people and also find out about the local wildlife. This in turn will encourage guests to think about giving back to the local communities and will give them the opportunity to learn about how they can help to protect the wildlife.
