As a fast developing country, China has lost her traditional charm in some way, take ancient towns for example. We believe this tour helps clients understand the importance of keep these ancient towns alive. Before the tour, we will hand out our Guidebook to the clients that emphasizes out our awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, including the heads-up for travelers to respect the environment, protect the local customs, culture and historic relics whilst exploring China. We only choose the suppliers who meet our environmental values. After we have chosen the restaurants, attractions, hotels etc, we put them to the test by carefully monitoring our customer’s evaluations. This continual review process ensures that we act quickly if our high standards are not maintained by our suppliers. Instead of big boats with over 50 people, we will take small boats in Erhai Lake, reducing pollutant to the water body. Basically, we always keep small groups tours, as small group tour can reduces the impact of tourism on the environment, e.g. no noise pollution from loud hailers, and smaller vehicles mean less damage to roads.

People

The ancient towns represent yesterdays of China and we would like that to last. By supporting local economics, we contribute in maintaining the lifestyles of the local residents. Interaction with local people is much encouraged because we think that is the best way for outsiders to understand the life, faith and values of common Chinese people. We employ more local people and use more local products and services than foreign tour operators, and we pay better salaries (including to tour guides and supplier agencies in other cities) than other Chinese operators. This benefits local Chinese economies and contributes to a better social environment in the areas our customers visit. The 5 ancient towns are of different highlights, heavy cultural hue in Pingyao, exotic folklores in Yunnan, waterfront peaceful life in Tongli and self-reserved touch in Hongcun down by Yellow Mountain, we will experience them all by keeping everything as the way it should be.
