Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

The food served to our clients is, in-season, locally sourced and produced, unrefined, unprocessed and wherever possible organic, this means we can minimise packaging and support local farmers growers and producers whilst ensuring our clients enjoy the very freshest produce possible. We use recyclable / compostable bags, food containers & paper straws & bamboo cutlery for our "take out" & picnic food...
In this region of Spain everyone recycles their waste, both individual households and businesses, glass, metal, plastic, paper and organic and garden waste.
All guests are informed and encouraged to be environmentally aware both inside and outside of the complex, inside by conserving power and water and outside by understanding why it is so important to stay on the designated tracks when hiking or mountain biking, we limit our groups to a maximum of 16 people, not only does this ensure our clients receive individual attention but also less impact is made to the environment.
The Impacts of this Trip
The accommodation /retreat complex that has been our retreat home for the past 10 years employs only local staff. All of our drivers, housekeepers, kitchen staff and therapists, teachers, instructors & our medical team are local, and we use local guides for both hiking and mountain biking, this not only offers employment to local people but also means that our clients benefit from genuine local knowledge that cannot be found in a guide book.
The owners of the retreats venue use local suppliers and use goods and services from the local area, this is particularly important during the autumn and winter months on the coast as when the summer tourists have dissappeared the unemployment rates here can soar.
We gift unused items such as toiletries from the retreat to a local children's home & charity & we also fundraise for them, we recycle as much as we can for example when we purchase new equipment we gift the old equipment to charity for example we have recently replaced our yoga blankets & we gave the old blankets to a local animal rescue charity to keep the animals warm during the coming winter months.
