Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

Israel is among the most advanced countries in water saving, desalination and reuse of wastewater for agriculture, since water is a scarce resource. Our ground agents encourage clients to use refillable insulated bottles instead of plastic bottles, a method which is very popular in Israel.

The importance of preserving the buildings and cultural heritage has greatly increased in the last 10 years in Israel, especially in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem where tourism to the area has helped support this. An example of this is the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem and several smaller boutique hotels in Tel Aviv.

Although there have been improvements in recent years, unfortunately Israel is not in the vanguard when comes to households’/individuals’ recycling. However, we do offer a Code of Conduct for our clients with environmental practices & support for the local community financially, and with regards to its customs, and ask our clients to consider recycling methods and not litter in the countries they visit.

This group tour is in a modern coach. Travelling by coach is a great way to see the country, having an expert English-speaking tour guide to offer you their knowledge and history, and it’s a great way to meet like-minded people. On an environmental level, it reduces the number of vehicles on the road too! Our ground agents use Euro 5 and Euro 6 buses which meet the European emission standards and their transportation partner is one of most traditional companies in Israel, with among the biggest modern fleets in the country.

As a company, we have a policy of staying in locally owned accommodation wherever possible and our ground agents use only local service providers in all aspects of operations – hotels, transport, sites, guides, restaurants. Every client travelling with us to Israel has a direct impact on the providers on the tour with either payment going directly to them for services, or through tips.

All meals are taken in locally owned and managed restaurants or family homes to try and support the local economy as much as possible, thus supporting the community financially. This provides valuable employment to the region and keeps the money you spend in the country, helping to maintain and develop the infrastructure.

Our ground handler in Israel has supported and sponsored a variety of projects throughout the years which we believe is an important value to us as a company employing their services. Some of the projects they have contributed to and volunteered with in the past include: sponsoring trips for Local Youth Clubs in Kadima, Etgarim: an organisation which works with the physically and mentally challenged, ‘Seeing Eye Dogs’, ‘Megemeria School of Jewellery design: helping the Ethiopian community at the Yvel design centre.

By booking your tour to Israel with us, we aim to give you a genuine interaction with the local community in a variety of ways, from home meals and hospitality, meeting with locals and community members, seeing traditional artists and crafts people.
