Family holiday for teenagers to Turkey
Description of Family holiday for teenagers to Turkey
This week long family holiday for teenagers is the chance to explore some of Turkey’s ancient sites and enjoy its beaches and beautiful landscapes. Older kids will love the mix of activities and relaxation woven through this holiday. Explore ruins left by ancient civilisations in Fethiye, Xanthos and Letoon, finding out about the history of the Lycian people. Hike through the steep sided Saklikent Gorge then freshen up in water pools made from melted snow. Spend a day at Oludeniz water park, then board a traditional gullet and cruise the coast for two days, relaxing on deck, stopping at quiet coves and swimming in the warm, crystal clear water. Hungry teens will adore the food here, tucking into hearty breakfasts and tasty treats like borek, baklava and pide. No visit to Turkey is complete without a trip to a traditional spa, either, and the whole family can enjoy an invigorating scrub, massage and visit to the hamam (Turkish sauna).

PlanetResponsible mission: As adventure travellers we relish and celebrate the diversity of the world. We also recognise our obligation to protect the environments that we explore. Our aim is to tread lightly, whilst contributing to maintain the world’s culture and nature, and most importantly to engage the help of all our customers to utilise the potential of tourism as a tool to aid sustainable development. We believe that responsible travellers are welcome in the places that they visit.
Partnerships: As a company we support The Travel Foundation, a UK charity that has been established to promote responsible travel practises throughout the whole of the travel industry. We also work with a number of charity partners who work in the destinations that we visit; including Friends of Conservation and Born Free Foundation.
As a company we aim to contribute to the environmental preservation of the destinations we visit and to reduce any negative impacts our operations may have. This translates to actions such as using local transport where safe to do so in order to reduce emissions, observing all national and marine park visitor rules and operating a ‘take in, take back out’ waste management system, to name but a few examples. Through our inhouse foundation we also invest money into environmental initiatives that benefit the planet, including restoring kelp forests to help reverse the effects of global warming and protecting endangered species such as sea turtles and elephants.
PeopleLots of people benefit from our stay - our Turkish local agents, the hotel we use, restaurants we eat in along with our Turkish group leader, drivers, gulet crew etc. This spreads the money we spend amongst many different people and provides vital employment. Our interest in the sea life (scuba diving) reinforces amongst local people the need to protect and preserve these environments.
Responsible code: Being Responsible is at the heart of everything our company does - full details of our code can be found on our website. The local supplier for this trip will promote our responsible travel code throughout your adventure. You will also receive specific information on this trip’s responsibility in your trip notes.
Giving something back: We have a foundation that collects the funds that you donate to us to support our projects. All our customers are invited to make a £1 per person contribution to the foundation at the time of booking. We will match every contribution that you make with our own £1. You as a customer choose where these funds are used from a shortlist of nominated projects – so it really is YOUR foundation.
