Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

All our tour leaders are extremely passionate about responsible travel, meaning our messaging is always consistent when it comes to explaining how to tackle environmental issues on our trips.

Minimising waste is very important. Sadly, itís nigh on impossible to reduce our waste production to zero, but we encourage our passengers to think carefully about the products they use. We always suggest bringing a reusable water bottle as this really helps cut down on plastic waste. The site we are using to view the eclipse will be for our own private use, we will ensure that we leave no waste and that the area we observe the eclipse from is left in the same state as it was before we arrived.

To further reduce plastic waste, youíll also be provided with a canvas bag to use throughout your trip and to take home as a souvenir of your time in Argentina. These are great for carrying around your daily essentials and for packing away any handicrafts or local produce you buy from vendors en route.

The Impacts of this Trip

This tour actively encourages you to engage with local people. Visiting locally-run cafes and bars, purchasing local produce and souvenirs, and discovering what life is really like in this part of Argentina. For example, on day two, we take a guided tour of some of the most traditional and picturesque parts of Buenos Aires, including stops in San Telmo and La Boca. Along the way youíll sample some Argentinian dishes and a glass or two of Malbec. In the evening, youíll go to a tango dinner show. Tango is an important part of Argentinian culture and an experience not to be missed!

Our tours pay a lot of attention to exploring in such a way that it doesnít cause disruption to local life. We also encourage travellers to avoid giving gifts or succumbing to begging, as this can result in dependency.

We employ local leaders as much as is operationally possible. Guides are always local, and they set their own rates. Leaders are always South American, and wages are standard salaries as found elsewhere in the tourism industry.
This trip uses private transport, the operators of which are always sourced locally.
