Description of Galapagos tailor made holidays
Galapagos Islands is the ideal destination for nature lovers and adventurers. Spend seven nights at the award winning luxury Finch Bay Eco Hotel on Puerto Ayora island, and enjoy daily excursions and activities exploring the various islands’ unique landscape and wildlife. Snorkel with sea lions and reef sharks, relax on deserted beaches, explore the bays by kayak and watch the sunset each night with a cocktail in hand. The Galapagos archipelago is made up of 13 main islands, 6 small islands and over 100 tiny outcrops and rocks. This trip allows you to explore the archipelago in comfort and style.
This is the perfect adventure for couples, friends and families, and can be tailored to your needs. You may also choose to split your stay between land and sea and stay aboard one of our small cruise boats or luxury yachts.
PlanetThis trip has a strong focus on exploring natural wonders with the aim of fostering a love of and respect for the environment and subsequently conservation in the areas visited.
Customers will stay at the Finch Bay Eco Hotel in Santa Cruz Island. The hotel takes its environmental credentials seriously. They have solar panels, water treatment, recycling, and organic food, plus daily cleaning of the public beach in front of the hotel. These are some of the things they do to minimise their environmental footprint.
All Galapagos day tours and activities have Naturalist guides to provide information about the natural environment, the indigenous animals, bird life and sea life, and ensure the group has clear advice on how to minimise impact and view wildlife safely.
Having travelled extensively ourselves and witnessed first-hand how tourism can have either positive or negative effects on local communities; we vowed to always endeavour to leave a positive mark on all places we visit and send clients. Our clients’ requirements are of primary importance to us at all times, as we know that our growth and success depend on their continued support.
There are a plethora of environmental problems plaguing the islands, some stemming from the pressures of world climate changes such El Niño (ENSO), others arising from commercial fishing, and overpopulation, and many resulting from the introduction of species by humans dating back to the 1800's. We endeavour to follow responsible guidelines, as with all trips. In 1979, the Galapagos was the first natural site to be named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is well known for it's eco-tourism with it's natural beauty and close encounters with wildlife. There are strict regulations governing all tourist activities in the Galapagos and these are strictly enforced. In addition, the number of visits to the Galapagos is restricted in order to protect the natural environment. We ensure that our
PeopleThe Finch Bay Eco Hotel supports the local community. They primarily employ staff from Puerto Ayora Island. Staff are trained in environmental and sustainability issues. 70% of staff come to work by bike. Staff also clean the public beach in front of the hotel every day.
Day tours are by yacht Sea Lion, owned by the hotel. All day tours are accompanied by local Naturalist guides. Day tours have been designed to both operate in a way that minimises our impact on the environment that we visit and to maximise the benefit that our clients can have on the people and wildlife of the Galapagos.
Typically with all our tailor-made trips to destinations we enjoy offering new routes and encourage travel to areas that are not on the main tourist trails and further support communities.
