Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

In this itinerary there is a great focus on discovering the valleys and mountains of this magnificent landscape on horseback or by foot, and keeping any car journeys to a minimum and when necessary.
With most yurt camps comprising of a few private sleeping tents, a communal eating tent, and shared toilet facilities they have been designed to have minimum impact on their surroundings and the environment. The limited access to electricity coming from a generator means you can also enjoy the atmosphere of the candle lit tents, take a break from all technology and gaze at the stars in the clear night skies.
The Impacts of this Trip
All our tours employ the services of local guides and drivers, stay in locally owned hotels and guesthouses – often staying in our guides' villages and homes, which again diverts important funds directly into the area. The wonderful thing about this kind of interactive tourism is that everyone gains – the locals financially, and our clients with the unique experience and social interaction.
On this trip to Kyrgyzstan you’ll spend most of your nights staying in yurt camps or a local guest house. This is a great opportunity to ensure that the nomads benefit directly from your stay whilst giving you the unique opportunity to experience and participate in their daily lives, and again we employ the services of local cooks, guides and staff.
You’ll also have the chance to visit local families, eagle hunters and local markets, and we always encourage our travellers to purchase any souvenirs or gifts directly from the locals rather than from the big stores or airports. This is best as you can meet the people your purchases will benefit, and by cutting out the middle men you know that they have received the full amount.
