Description of Brazil beach hopping holiday, tailor made

This Brazil beach hopping holiday really does what it says it does, a tailor made trip that helps you explore the country’s north eastern Atlantic coast with some of the most stunning tropical beaches and islands you could hope for. Starting in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil’s first capital, enjoy this coastal gem which is the Afro Brazilian heartland of the country and where you can spend a few days enjoying its laid back beach life vibe.

Your next hop is on board a catamaran to the island of Tinharé Island, a tropical idyll where you stay in the car free village of Morro de São Paulo which is dominated not only by palm fringed beaches but also its 17th century Tapirandu Fortress’ ruins.

Your next beach stop, after returning to the mainland and taking a flight up north is Praia de Pipa, considered by many to be one of the country’s most magnificent beaches, with its picture postcard arc of Golfinho Bay, otherwise known as Dolphin Bay for obvious reasons. Brazil’s beaches just keep giving.

Your coastal finale is in the town of Jericoacoara, accessible via another flight heading further north still. This small town is only accessible via 4WD to manage the dunes, all protected Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. This landscape of rolling white dunes, deep blue freshwater lakes and mangrove swamps must be one of Brazil’s best kept secrets and a stunning, unique landscape to bring your trip to a close.

Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

On this trip you will be travelling through many fragile environments and ecosystems. Guides will help you to encounter wildlife and birdwatch responsibly whilst also ensuring that no fragile landscapes are damaged. Travel is by boat and on foot where possible to help with preservation efforts.

In our pre departure information pack, and through the orientation on the ground we help you to minimise your carbon footprint on your tour, and help protect the fragile ecosystem of the north of Brazil. This information includes simple advice on the disposal of waste whilst with us. All entry fees paid for the entrance into the national parks contribute to its upkeep and help preserve it for the future.

We really work hard to keep all our operations green at home as well as on tour! All our worldwide offices currently run on 90% green energy (we are working towards 100%) from hydro electric, wind to solar power. Being web based, we are close to becoming a paperless environment, brochure prints are at a minimum (and printed on a requirement basis) and all pre departure information is emailed.

We use energy saving bulbs in our work centres, and recycle all our waste. Staff are encouraged to ride a bike or take public transport to work. Recently we have also started an initiative to plant a tree in Peru and Bolivia for each and every client travelling to these wonderful countries. So booking with is like your making your very own contribution to the environment!

The Impacts of this Trip

Our trips source as much as possible from the local community. We aim to minimise our impact on the environment and give as much back as possible to the communities we work in.

Hotels used are all locally owned and we try to choose where possible hotels which hold the same values and understand their responsibilities to the local environment as we do. Our guides are all highly qualified (most with university degrees) or many years of experience and are paid above the standard wage. We source them due to their unique contact with the local communities we visit, as well as their knowledge of the lakes, fauna and flora you will pass on route. This will give you an insight into the history of this fascinating region.

By booking your tour with us, you will be making a real impact on the community you are visiting. We can also assist you if you wish to visit community projects in order to get a lot more out of your trip. Most importantly a percentage of the funds generated from your tour (10%) will go back to our charities and assist us support the next generation and the environment they live in.
