Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
Our local guides will tell us about local initiatives such as the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve in Croatia as well as how we can support great causes such as this to keep the rivers living and clean. We promise to educate all of our guests about the wildlife they may encounter on this trip as well as to inform them about how to interact responsibly with them. The chance to encounter wildlife is very low, but we like our customers to be prepared just in case!
We also promise to give our travelers the opportunity to purchase larger jugs of water with which they can fill their personal water bottles with in order to reduce the amount of plastic waste created. We encourage everyone who travels with us to bring their own personal water bottle and to refill them in this way so we do not contribute the plastic epidemic that plagues the earth.
People
We promise to use only local guides in each country visited on this tour so that our guests may have a more authentic experience and gain insight from a real local. We also believe that hiring locals as guides, patronizing local cafes/bars/restaurants, etc. helps stimulate the local economies to thrive and continue to offer more authentic experiences to future travelers. We promise to promote local crafts and culture by visiting local craft markets and artisans' shops. For example, we will visit the Dolac Open Air Market in Zagreb which offers local produce and handmade crafts. We strongly feel that this is a great way to introduce our travelers to a local scene and have an opportunity to interact with locals as well as learn more about the local culture. It's also a chance for our customers to learn about regional products and specialties, which are also important parts of the culture.
