Responsible tourism: Vietnam and Cambodia cultural tour

Environment

For gaining a deeper understand of magical Vietnam & Cambodia Culture, we have to act as a local because the locals do not harm their living environment. The main signature of this package is heading to countryside, particularly the unspoiled landscape of Mekong Delta and Kampong Thom where the culture of local people is still strongly remain despite the fast movement of economic development.

We keep our group tours to a maximum of 16 people and minimize the amount of departure as 2 group per month for many good reasons. Firstly, it’s easy to for us to visit a tranquil villages and affect to local life, respect their culture and less cause harmful waste to the environment. Moreover, small group also mean the tour leader can take care more details for your trips, help you to break down barriers in your interactions with local people. In addition, small group will fit with local transport which spending two nights at homestay. Small rowing boats, sampans, paddles and oxt cart will take us through the many mangrove tributaries to visit more tribal villages and meet with friendly locals, cooking by their organic ingredients, having dinner together and enjoying their traditional music perforation.

Last but not least, we also provide information on how to preserve the environment where we visit through, for instants, in Mekong Delta, we should place rubbish in the proper place such as keeping in underground wastage things or establishing a fire pit and burning waste like papers as what the locals do.

Besides that this trip also take you to visit Angkor Wat – an architectural masterpiece. Its perfection in composition, balance, proportions, relief’s and sculpture make it one of the finest monuments in the world. By preserving this tourist attraction, we recommend explore the Angkor complex by foot or low carbon form of transport such as mini green car or bicycle. It is no doubt that biking around Angkor Complex in the morning to enjoy the sunrise, breath the fresh morning air will become the most significant memory for your trip. Furthermore, visiting Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary Ecotourism Community is also a good chance for us to increase people awareness in term of environment protection.

Community

All of attractive destinations of this trip are focus on staying a rural communities. We believe that staying at local hotel or family homes in regions such as Mekong Delta and Khmer Homestay not only give us an authentic experience inside the local life but also bringing the tangible benefits to that communities. Spending time with locals hosts enables far more cultural interactions than mass tourism.

We believed that tourism has to generates income for local communities where it take place. We encourage our customers to purchase local products such as fresh fruits, handloom products and visit local markets for this purpose. We help to provide job opportunities and use local guides and drivers on this trip. For example, Saigon Foodtour which's run by university students guide. We support their university life by providing them a job, giving a chance for them to exchange their knowledge and helping them to covering their study cost. Furthermore, we operate foodtour based on the philosophy that “one tour for one meal” to support the poor people, people with disability or elder without children. For one tour booked, we already dominated $2 for our yearly charity fund such as giving food to streets people to support their daily meals.

Our main objective of operate this package is how to benefit the local community, protect the environment and have a positive social impact on the inhabitants living in our host destination. We use small and locally owned suppliers which mean that the income will remains within the regions and create a real economic contribution. We respect our supplier initially and always treat them in a fairly way. We conclude that getting the lowest possible price usually isn’t the best outcome for local communities and is ultimately unsustainable since they are all a part of the elements to our success. Working together is much more than just a business arrangement therefore we are seeking for an ongoing relationship that truly benefits for everyone who involved in.
