Responsible tourism: Scotland whisky tour

Environment

We are environmentally conscious and aware of its footprint. Scotland is our homeland and we are doing the best we could to keep her clean and unpolluted. This is the reason why we put the best effort into educating our travellers to be aware of their impact on the ecosystems and to act responsibly.

We want to give good environmental example to our clients and partners by taking our correspondence and promotion via the Internet in order to minimize the amount of paper we use. We cooperate with suppliers that have the same policy as we, for example, we buy our toiletries from the company that sells only organic products. We also encourage new suppliers to have the same ethics as we by sending them our regulations and work only with those who accept the same policies as we.

For this tour we choose only Eco-friendly hotels. For example, we use as accommodation in Inverness - the Glendoune, private house that has Green tourism policy and has a set of regulations for energy and water usage. All our hotels are owned by locals and they employ local people. Before inviting people to come to Scotland we give our customers a short briefing about the importance of being responsible. We advise our travellers to take care of nature, control water usage whenever they can, and pick up all the litter that they see.

Excursions and attractions in which captive wildlife is held are not offered, except for properly regulated activities in compliance with local, national and international low. Any disturbance of natural ecosystem is minimised.

Community

Our tours are designed to show and preserve local culture and traditions. During our Scotland Whisky tour we include visiting old and traditional distilleries owned by locals. We encourage our customers to taste whisky and buy products in order to support local owners and help them maintain their business. All of the guides, drivers and staff are local people. We also use local transport wherever possible, from trains to local buses and taxis.

We believe that responsible travel is about the attitude you take with you and the choices you make when travelling. Respect to the local people, their cultures, the economy and the environment should be the first rule that travellers follow. On our whisky tour, we have one night with local dancing show, organized by local community in order to help to preserve our local culture and heritage. We advise our tourists to visit local galleries and support local art as it is a part of Scotland heritage. We eat only in local restaurants owned by locals and eat traditional dishes.
Our goal is not only to help the local community but also to educate our customers to act in a socially responsible way. As much as we can, we support local communities and charities programs and help those who need the most. For example we closely cooperate with Birchwood Highland community by helping them to organise a charity trek to raise funds. We also donated to them various holiday prizes to help raise funds. We also encourage our customers to visit their website and send a donation.
Sustainable development, protection and conservation are most important goals of our company. We are doing our best to transfer our knowledge to others so we could together act responsibly in preserving the planet.
