Responsible tourism: India flora and fauna tour

Environment

We are environmentally conscious and aware of its footprint. We put effort into educating our travellers to be aware of their impact on the ecosystems and to act responsibly.

Our correspondence and promotion are carried out via the Internet and email, minimizing the amount of paper we use. We print our office documents on both sides of the paper to reduce paper consumption. We also work to minimise energy and water consumption in our offices, and we encourage our partners to follow similar waste management and energy philosophies. In this tour, you will be staying in homestays, lodges and hotels which are safe, comfortable and operated in a sustainable way. We specifically pay attention to the lodges and camps, located around national parks for their waste disposal and eco-tourism policies.
Before travelling to India, we give our customers a short briefing about the importance of being responsible. We advise our travellers to take care of nature, control water usage whenever they can, and pick up all the litter that they see.

Tiger reserves and national parks are covered in the majority of our tours and with the increasing number of tourists in these reserves can put extra pressure on the local flora and fauna. However, we believe wildlife tourism can be an important conservation tool if used responsibly. Travel to national parks and wildlife areas can bring positive economic benefits as entrance fees contribute to the maintenance and conservation of local flora and animal species, while visitors benefit from the educational aspects of the area and take away with them an increased awareness of the need and place for conservation. But Excursions and attractions in which captive wildlife is held are not offered, except for properly regulated activities in compliance with the local, national and international law. We try to minimize any disturbance of natural ecosystem.

Community

Our tours are designed to show and preserve local culture and traditions. In our Flora And Fauna Tour in India all of the guides, drivers and staff are local people. We also use local transport wherever possible, from trains to taxis to cycle rickshaws.

We believe that responsible travel is about the attitude you take with you and the choices you make when travelling. Respect to the local people, their cultures, the economy and the environment should be the first rule that travellers follow. Travellersí visit to the historical and heritage sites on this tour will contribute to the maintenance and restoration of these unique places in a form of the entry fee. As per our sustainable travel policy, we ask that travellers respect signage, take only photographs and leave no litter or graffiti behind, even if others have done so.

Most of our meals in India are prepared by locals chefs. In the aim to support the local economy we only eat in local restaurants and buy in local markets. Our hotels are owned by locals and this not only puts money back in the community but it encourages in imparting knowledge to the community about the importance of their environment and how it can be beneficial without destructing it.

Our goal is not only to help the local community but also to educate our customers to act in a socially responsible way. We will attempt to give an insight and understanding of the host culture and community to our clients so that they can gain more from their visit. All our travellers who book through our company receive information on India and its flora and fauna prior to their trip, to understand and respect the culture and environment of the host destination. We are doing our best to transfer our knowledge to others so we could together act responsibly in preserving the planet.
