Whether you are travelling alone or with friends/family its good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is plenty of free time to explore at your own pace. This trip will appeal to travellers of all ages who enjoy meeting new people as well as seeing new places.Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

When relaxing on the beaches on Mexico, we ask that you ensure all litter is taken with you or disposed of correctly and nothing is left behind that may end up in the ocean. When exploring the area and swimming, avoid disrupting marine animals or coral, and do not remove natural materials from their habitat as souvenirs. We also would discourage you from purchasing any souvenirs that may contain shell or other natural materials.
This tour visits an incredible 6 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These incredible and preserved sites highlight the importance of keeping history alive for generations to come. Entrance is included in the tour cost for Teotihuacan, Monte Alban and Chichen Itza. The money we pay for tickets to these sites goes directly back into the restoration of the buildings and the preservation of them and the surrounding area for years to come. When visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites, we ask that you remain respectful and do not climb or walk over areas that are prohibited.
Mexico has a reputation for its wonderful food, and this tour offers ample opportunity to taste some of the countries finest dishes. Our tour leaders are incredibly knowledgeable on the best local restaurants and markets for you to try. We would encourage you to always eat local produce, making use of the wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables that the country are fortunate enough to grow. Eating locally produced food from markets is the most environmentally friendly way of eating as you can be assured that very little would be imported from overseas like it would in many international chain restaurants.
The Impacts of this Trip
Mexico has a rich culture and we encourage you to embrace this with open arms. We would recommend to learn a few words of Spanish in order to communicate with local people in shops or markets. Not only does this make for some wonderful memories but shows that you respect their language and culture and are willing to educate yourself as you travel.
Throughout this tour we stay in unique, smaller accommodations that are locally owned where possible. We believe our accommodation choices should directly benefit the local economy while providing a comfortable and convenient stay for travellers. For example in Puebla we stay in Hotel La Alhondiga, a 17th century colonial building which is one of the oldest in the city. This quaint building is a wonderful example of colonial architecture and how important it is to preserve these buildings.
This tour includes all breakfasts and no lunch or dinners. While this also keeps the overall tour cost down, we strongly believe a holiday where you can choose your meals and where to eat is the best option for both traveller and community. With so many wonderful restaurants and local markets, our tour leaders will advise you on the best and most authentic places to eat and where to spend your money, ensuring you are supporting local establishments and not international chains.
This tour includes one internal flight between Oaxaca and Merida. By adding in a flight between these destinations we cut out many long travel days and in turn give you more time to spend in these wonderful towns and their communities. In other areas we use a private transport company to get from A to B. This not only provides work opportunities for local people who work in the business but private transfers also allow for us to get off the beaten track and visit areas/local establishments that are off the main roads.
