Responsible tourism

Responsible tourism: Middle Atlas mountains trekking holiday, Morocco

When we saw that mass tourism has taken over Morocco most known areas especially historic cities and natural beaches and mountains, we thought on how to protect our heritage and environment by offsetting the mentality of big tour operators who think only how to enrich themselves and the few partners they have. We created this company as a sustainable travel outlet with cultural and spiritual approach to conserve the culture of locals and the natural life that supports them. Our natural environment is what makes Morocco so attractive. It is our duty to protect it and educate as much as we can locals and visitors to follow our leads. Waste is the enemy of human life around the globe and in Morocco we lobbied till we convinced the government to create a special ministry devoted to protect environment and wildlife. Today we enjoy the first significant campaign of Zero Plastic to become a universal law for all Moroccans nationwide.

Waste management today is a serious project so we implement all the universal guidelines to keep the terrain we work in at least as clean as we found it, if not cleaner.

Water is an important source of life especially here in Morocco. Government as well as NGOs are doing all it takes to preserve every drop of it. It is our duty to keep it clean and abundant. Wasting it is a crime in our views. We encourage all our guests to keep Morocco green and save water. As Morocco is an agricultural country, dams are built on major rivers and the project of drop irrigation, most sophisticated way is even subsidized for farmers. We participate and help to dig wells in arid areas.

Most of lodges and hotels we use in our tours are energy aware owned by locals. They must use solar energy or have other renewable energy sources. We are building our first eco-lodge with all the guidelines of UNESCO.

Most of our partners in tour supplies must have the same vision about environment and sustainable tourism. We encourage local products and spread tourism income to those in most need.

We educate our guests at our best of ability about areas visited and people by teaching them the ways and means of locals, teach them few vernacular words and encourage them to use them. The outcome of these encounters is phenomenal when it is built on mutual respect. Our aim is to see our guests enjoying every minute of their journey in Morocco especially when they encounter local communities who are also happy to meet them. We work hard to build these relationships between visitors and locals that benefit all.
