Responsible tourism: Kenya and Tanzania epic safari

Environment

We minimise our impact on the environment by travelling in small groups, offsetting our carbon emissions, reducing waste and supporting conservation projects. By travelling in small groups, it helps us in reducing carbon emissions a we only use one safari vehicle per trip. we work with organisations like Green destinations and Africa Network for Animal Welfare on which we support in disnearing activities

Taking into consideration all impacts on the environment, we endeavour to maintain a zero-tolerance attitude to any damage caused by our participants at their respective host communities during the tours. Our conservation efforts range from protecting endangered animals, facilitating sustainable waste disposal mechanisms, and overseeing the care and upkeep of plant life. As a company, we are also very mindful of minimizing paper consumption, so when possible we prefer to utilise web-based communication. Our conservation efforts start from planting trees within the communities we visit, introduction better fuel usage to reduce natural fuel usage through provision of energy saving stoves. we have also created a motto within our company where, if you cut one tree then plant two

Planting of trees on the villages we visit will help in to re instate the environment due to the high fuel consumption of firewood and charcoal in the area we visit

With time we hope to introduce introduction of solar panels and paying for power installations for the local area we visit

The use of refillable water bottles during the trip will help us reduce the amount of plastic bottles that get disposed into out environment

We will provide shopping bags to our clients to avoid the use of plastic bags in our destinations

Our driver guides are usually trained on the regulations in regards to the different parks we visit, for example, offload driving during game drives to enable clients see animals close is completely prohibited and the drivers also have to keep a safe distance from the animals for various reasons including providing animals with the personnel space they require

On this tour, we will be using a customised land cruiser safari vehicle, the jeep is fitted with speed limiter and always serviced to help minimise the amount of carbon being emitted by the vehicle. the Jeep is also fitted with some filters on the exhorts which helps in reducing the amount of carbon being released as the vehicle is in motion

Most of our suppliers are local people in their homes, we usually provide them with information on environmental conservation and also request them to exercise them as much as possible, when using Camps and hotels, our main focus is mainly on the percentage of the locals benefiting on the property through employment and community works that they do.

Community

•We ensure people in the communities we visit are treated fairly and paid a fair wage

•We learn about and respect the customs and culture of the country we are visiting so that we do not offend local people

•We ensure that local people benefit economically by employing them as guides - and by eating in local restaurants and using locally owned hotels and homes where possible acting in such a way that our partners, our staff, our clients and their families, all those who are directly impacted by our business, and our own staff are treated with respect and benevolence. By blending different cultures we endeavour to maximise the connection between our participants and the local community and ensure that our business is a genuine exchange of efforts and human capital.

Running different programs for the groups we visit is our key initiative

We hope through introducing our clients to the local way of peoples lifes, will give the locals motivation to conserve their cultures for the future generation and also as a source of income as cultural tourism is growing

we highly promote local craft shops and community centres that do art depending on the schedule of the trip. On most our community tours, the clients are always advised to buy souvenirs from the community members as most of the families we visit do make them
