The Cyclades cycling holiday, Greece

Description of The Cyclades cycling holiday, Greece
This superb week of cycling in the Cyclades allows travellers to explore the islands of Greece on two wheels as well as having plenty of time to enjoy the Mediterranean island ambience on foot.
Experiencing a couple of Cyclades classics, namely Paros and Naxos, places your pedals right at the heart of this gorgeous Greek archipelago with secret sandy shallows and traditional fishing villages providing perfect places to cool off after a good day spent in the saddle.
From the ancient marble quarries of Marathi to the preserved medieval fortifications at Antiparos, this cycling trip includes as many historic highlights as scenic stretches which makes it a must for those who like to learn as they exercise outdoors.
As this holiday can be self-guided or guided cyclists have the opportunity to enjoy the Cyclades in their own time and at their own pace with the ferry ride between Paros and Naxos allowing easy access from one island to the next.
The four recommended cycling routes in the Cyclades, featured in the itinerary below, are considered moderate and probably best suited to cyclists who are in relatively good shape.

The day we bicycled around Antiparos was the most memorable part of our holiday. It was fun to bicycle from Paros to catch the small ferry that took us to Antiparos. Read full reviewReviewed on 03 Nov 2019 by Marie-Madeleine Friberg

When choosing this tour, you choose responsible holidays; as we as a company we are committed on what is called Responsible Travel. We act friendly towards local people and the environment and we treat our guests as travelers and not as tourists. The nature of this trip is environmentally friendly, as it is a pure cycling tour. No other transportation is previewed, except of course of the marine transportation.
We avoid large hotel complexes and instead we book small scale hotels.
The communication between us and our guests is made primarily via e-mail and sometimes by telephone. You will not receive from us any printed material. We will provide you everything you need (roadbook, vouchers, travel documents etc.) via e-mail.
In the documentation we provide our guests, we include information on the local ecosystems, the indigenous flora and fauna and the rural activities of local people.
We offer 3 euros of the price per person of this trip for the environment, in selected actions, every time, which benefit the local ecosystem, such as beach cleaning, marine life preservation etc.
People
For us local people are structural elements of each place, and each destination is primarily their home. We do whatever is possible not to disturb their lives, their customs and activities but we also intend for our trips to be beneficial for the local culture and economy. We strive to educate our travelers about the destination and its local cultures as well as providing guidelines on appropriate behavior to minimize impact. We rent bicycles from small local companies and we book small scale, mainly family-run hotels.
During this tour our guests will have the opportunity of testing local cuisine in small traditional family-run restaurants and also visiting producers and /or manufacturers if you wish.
We will suggest small businesses, so that you have the opportunity to taste local products, even buy your gifts for friends and family.
If you wish a guide only for the cycling, we encourage you to engage locals, on the spot.
