Description of Activity holiday in the French Alps

This eight day activity holiday in the French Alps is a tailor made trip, where we help create an itinerary for anyone wanting to have some outdoor adventures in this stunning region around Mont Blanc. The suggested itinerary below gives you an idea of some of the adventures we highly recommend, all fully guided by our expert mountain leaders. However, we are more than happy to tweak this to suit your age ranges, abilities and interests.

On this holiday, we recommend two bases, the first in Chamonix which is gateway to Mont Blanc and the second, Annecy, home to the beautiful lake of the same name. Staying in small and charming locally owned hotels in both, head into the mountains on the back of a donkey, go rafting in the Giffre Valley and hike up to magnificent viewpoints in the Alps, such as the Argentières Glacier, all with the support of our expert local guides.

Annecy, with its idyllic location on the turquoise alpine waters of its lake, is a wonderful location for canyoning, taking on the challenge of the via ferrata and, of course, just swimming on the various lake beaches. We can also build plenty of free time into your itinerary so that you can enjoy the many other attractions of the French Alps, such as the charming spa towns of Aix-les-Bains, Brides-les-Bains, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains or Uriage-les-Bains.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Our agency tries to promote eco-friendly activities with no harm to environment. Our holidays have a very strong focus on nature and the environment.

In this program, you'll be discovering the French Alps: a mountain range in the south-east of France. and exceptional nature. We enable our clients to discover the region off the beaten path.

You will also discover the beauty of the landscapes of the French Alps: Enthusiasts for nature and strong sensations will be delighted about the natural heritage of the region. Enjoy it and visit the natural park of the Vanoise, do some cross-country skiing in the Bauges and climb the Mont Blanc. At the lakes of Aiguebelette or Annecy, you will have the opportunity to initiate into water sports and amateurs of winter sports can profit from a big variety of stations in the French Alpes. Enjoy nature and drive the famous “Route des grandes Alpes”, a road exceeding 2,000 meters of altitude!
If you want to relax for a while, visit the beaches along different lakes or take a break for your well-being at the spas of Aix-les-Bains, Brides-les-Bains, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains or Uriage-les-Bains. You can also find natural beauty in symbolic places such as the capital of alpinism Charmonix right at the Mont Blanc or Annecy, the Savoyard Venice. Grenoble and its museums, the fortress of MontDauphin, Bonneval-sur-Arc and its ancient houses made of stone, the fortifications of Briançon, the picturesque chalets in Saint-Véran or La Grave and its sloping alleys are also worth a visit. Watersports’ fans will also be spoilt be for choice: the Lake Geneva, Europe’s water-richest lake and the Lac d’Annecy, Europe’s purest lake, offer a wide range of sports and leisure activities.

To preserve this unique natural and cultural heritage, we urge our clients to travel responsibly and to help preserve this wonderful nature. Our passionate guides can accompany our clients on bike, boat or walking tours and draw their attention to the region’s rich fauna and flora. They will talk about the region’s history, the animals that are particular to this region, and local craftmanship to increase the awareness. Moreover, they make sure that our clients do not harm the environment while visiting it. Learning and preserving at the same time!

Rental cars are the best means of transport for our clients to make the most of their stay in the Frech Alps. Without a car, they wouldn't have the same possibilities to visit the surroundings. However, we encourage them to leave the car parked and to go on biking or hiking tours to reduce their ecological footprint and to discover France in an authentic way that brings them closer to nature. The Alps are just perfect for that!

We focus our guest’s attention on local efforts to preserve flora and fauna and we like to think holidays significantly contribute to raising awareness for the environment. We ask our guests to be aware of their electricity and hot water consumption when they travel with us. We advise our guests about local regulations and protected areas at each destination.

Our office minimizes the use of paper by using internet, emails and for marketing purposes we also make use of websites. Our vouchers are electronic to avoid massive use of paper. When we have to use paper, we use the APUR paper, and our Brother’s cartridges are brought to the recycle center, which has a partnership with CoolEarth.

Our aim is to offer customers a chance to discover a secret France by offering original itineraries. We select local suppliers that have the same vision as us to reduce the environmental impact of tourism and preserve local surroundings. All our accommodations are locally owned and conscious of their ecological footprint.

We select our local guides and craftsmen with great care to ensure that our activity benefits the local economy. Our guides are able to offer an insight into the local culture and are able to guide visitors to less known sites and unknown treasures. Thanks to our expertise and local guides, we know the best spots to buy and to try local products and specialties.

This trip is full of exciting activities with locals. Our experienced guides make sure that you have the real off the beaten track experience. They show you the breath-taking landscapes but will always make sure to preserve the nature all around. They know the area and local regulations better than anyone.

We support local business and promote their activities, such as a donkey tour with a local mountain farmer or a summer hike accompanied by a mountain guide. A rafting tour, an e-mountain bike tour as well as canyoning and climbing are perfect opportunities to leave the car parked and discover the beautiful nature in a unique way. All our excursions are guided by locals.

You will definitely get a deeper understanding of the area and leave with unforgettable memories. Our vast experience and extensive knowledge enable us to propose packages that will give a true insight into the country they visit.

Packages are selected in close relationship with customers and suppliers. We guarantee to replace or refund unavailable products, giving reassurance to the customer. Our team is there for our clients, before, during and after the stay in France.
