Description of Normandy tour, cultural and natural riches

This Normandy tour is a carefully crafted cultural trip with a strong historical focus, visiting the five D Day Landings beaches with an expert guide and also getting au fait with the ‘belle epoque’ locations of this coastline.

Starting and ending in Paris, let us organise this journey for you through some of northern France’s most fascinating areas. We recommend you stay in three different hotels: firstly in Paris, with a private airport transfer to your three star hotel; second, at a chateau hotel in Bayeux, not only famous for its Tapestry but also for being the first major town secured by the Allies. Finally, in a coastal guesthouse in the famous, traditional seaside town of Trouville.

This is a tailor made trip and so we can offer many cultural and historical options depending on your interests and time frame. Other highlights for our guests include visiting a Calvados distillery, the medieval Château de Falaise and having a guided tour through the historic 19th century seaside resort of Cabourg.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Our agency tries to promote eco-friendly activities which pose no harm to environment. Our holidays have a very strong focus on nature and the environment.

Lush meadows, orchards filled with apple blossom, rocks and sandy beaches, woodland and pasture, narrow low ridges surmounted by thick hedgerows are the characteristics of the Calvados Coast in Normandy. We promote visiting the region as it plays an important role for the protection of the biodiversity.

Discover the beautiful nature of Normandy and wander and go on a kayak tour along the coast or visit epic places of World War II. All these activities can be booked as guided tours and our local guides are happy to accompany you. They will make sure you learn a lot about the area without doing any harm to the environment.

All the accommodations are locally owned businesses and work responsibly to minimize the ecological impact. Clients will for example stay in a fortified residence that has retained its olden-day charm and in a charming guesthouse in Paris. The hosts offer warm hospitality, ensure comfort and cleanliness and are willing to share their environment with you. We select local suppliers that have the same vision as us to reduce the environmental impact of tourism and preserve local surroundings.

We focus our guest’s attention on local efforts to preserve flora and fauna and we like to think holidays significantly contribute to raising awareness for the environment. We ask our guests to be aware of their electricity and hot water consumption when they travel with us. We advise our guests about local regulations and protected areas at each destination.

Rental cars are the best means of transport for our clients to make the most of their stay in Normandy. However, we encourage them to leave the car parked and to go on biking or hiking tours to reduce their ecological footprint and to discover the region in an authentic way that brings them closer to nature.

Our office minimizes the use of paper by using internet, emails and for marketing purposes we also make use of websites. Our vouchers are electronic to avoid massive use of paper. When we have to use paper, we use the APUR paper, and our Brother’s cartridges are brought to the recycle center, which has a partnership with CoolEarth

Our aim is to offer customers a chance to discover a secret France by offering original itineraries.

We select our local guides and craftsmen with great care to ensure that our activity benefits the local economy. Our guides are able to offer an insight into the local culture and are able to guide visitors to less known sites and unknown treasures. Thanks to our expertise and local guides, we know the best spots to buy and to try local products and specialties. We promote our excursions and activities with our local guides. They can tell our clients about their culture and they know the area very well. They know how to show you Guadeloupe while minimizing the impact on the environment.

In this program, we work with local people to protect cultural heritage. You will meet typical locals from the area who will show you their home. They accompany you on kayak trips or canyoning activities. Furthermore, a local distillery opens its doors for you. By getting our travelers to connect with the locals, we support the local population and help them preserve their culture and traditions.

Please respect local cultures, traditions, religions and built heritage!
During a Cooking class, you will enjoy a top-quality homecooked meal, made from fresh regional ingredients and share moments with accommodating hosts and learn more about their “art de vivre”. Brigitte is happy to show you how to cook a traditional meal from Normandy and welcomes you in her Norman farmhouse.

Caen, the department’s capital, breathes 1000 years of history. On D-Day, 6 June 1944, the city was the scene of a fierce battle between the Allied Forces and the German Occupiers. Large parts of Caen were destroyed. The Memorial of Caen, a museum dedicated to peace, commemorates World War II, and more generally tells European history from World War I to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Our clients can follow the traces of history and visit known places from WW II.

This trip also features unique accommodations. A fortified residence in the village of Crépon and the guesthouse of Agnes will allow you to stay in an informal atmosphere. This way, we cannot only help our local partners but also provide an immersive experience for our customers. For the most part, we promote and use Sharing Economy Services. All hotels are locally owned businesses.

You will definitely get a deeper understanding of the area and leave with unforgettable memories. Our vast experience and extensive knowledge enable us to propose packages that will give a true insight into the region they visit. Packages are selected in close relationship with customers and suppliers. We guarantee to replace or refund unavailable products, giving reassurance to the customer. Our team is there for our clients, before, during and after the stay in Normandy.
