Responsible tourism: Tesla self drive holiday in Scotland

Environment

We are continuously finding new ways to promote true sustainability of the environment through our holidays, and one of these is through Tesla car hire. Tesla cars are the most innovative electric vehicle in the world, and are fully committed to converting the world to clean energy and zero emissions travel. Tesla cars provide great solution for those who are environmentally conscious but also want the freedom of hiring a car on their trip, and we have carefully planned this holiday to ensure you can always access charging ports at your accommodation.

The accommodation chosen takes you a little off the beaten tourist track, so that you will have a more authentic experience. In each place, there are plentiful local walks - we will provide suggestions and recommendations in your holiday pack, but do check the most up-to-date information with the staff at your hotel.

We encourage our customers to try local produce – and provide recommendations for the best places to visit to do this. The accommodation providers we select share this commitment – many have kitchen gardens growing their own herbs, salad and vegetables, and some even have chickens roaming in the grounds to provide eggs for breakfast. Dinner menus focus on local specialities.

We predominantly market our holidays via the internet. We produce a small quantity of compact brochures each year for past customers and enquirers. If we do have any left over, we ensure these are recycled.

Community

We take the utmost care to choose local business partners who share our values and commitment to sustainable travel, preferring to work with locally-owned and managed businesses wherever possible. We build long-term relationships based on mutual trust with our business partners, with a joint commitment to excellent customer satisfaction and care for the environment.

For us, true sustainability means promoting and helping to maintain a way of life, where the economic benefit from tourism can make a genuine difference. That’s why we work almost exclusively with local, family-run businesses, not with large corporate organisations. We build close and lasting relationships with our business partners, based on mutual trust and an unerring commitment to customer satisfaction. We carefully select these partners to ensure that they share our values of sustainable and responsible travel.

We are corporate members of the John Muir Trust, an organisation committed to protecting the wild land of the Scottish highlands and islands.

We are members of AITO, the Association of Independent Tour Operators, and adhere to their strict code of conduct.
