Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

We encourage our travellers to minimise their use of water and ensure that our passengers preserve and do not contaminate the local water supply. We encourage all accommodation providers on this trip to follow water-saving policies. In bathrooms at hotels there are notes advising how to place your towels if you don稚 require new ones. This reduces the amount of unnecessary laundry being done during this trip, reducing the water usage of each group. These notes also include reminders to turn off running water while washing hands and brushing teeth.

In an effort to reduce single use plastic during this trip we provide reusable cloth bags to all of our travellers.
We use local transport where safe, reliable and feasible. This trip includes three public boat rides and one public bus ride. By using public transport wherever possible and not flying between destinations, we are reducing the environmental impact of utilising all private transport. Travellers also have the chance to interact with locals during these journeys.

An important part of travel is mixing with the locals and experiencing 途eal life in destination. There are many destinations visited on this trip that are not well-known or well-visited by tourists. This allows travellers to spend time in less crowded locations, but also support local communities through tourism. Through the homestay in Chi Phat we are encouraging sustainable tourism and maintaining local traditions. By visiting Koh Kong and Koh Chang we are boosting the economy of smaller beachfront destinations and educating our local suppliers about our travel philosophies.

We encourage our travellers to shop from traditional artisans and for locally made products, helping keep traditional crafts alive, and favour local products over imported items. While in Siem Reap Province, we include a visit to the Angkor Silk Farm, part of Artisans d但ngkor. This organisation was created to allow job opportunities for rural Cambodians, close to their home villages. Through its work in traditional crafts like silk weaving and stone carving they are also preserving traditional techniques and designs.
