Travel from Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh City, exploring, relaxing, partying and making new friends on this Vietnam tour for under 30s. In Hanoi, walk through the Old Quarter and pause to perch on a cafe stool and just take in the busy street life and overloaded mopeds. Spend time kayaking and cruising around the green waters of Halong Bay, soak up Vietnam’s history via the fabulous food and architecture of Hue, with perhaps a cruise on the Perfume River, too. In Hoi An, see the mix of influences that have made this city so gorgeous – a touch of France here, a bit of China there – get some clothes made by one of the city’s famous tailors, or hop on your bike to cycle through rice paddies. Now it’s time for the coast. Head to Phan Rang for relaxed beers on the beach, before finishing off your unforgettable 10 days in Ho Chi Minh City, a busy urban hub where life happens on the street and the food is spicier, sweeter and more varied than in the north. This is the perfect trip for young people who enjoy some independence. You’ll be travelling with a small group of up to 16 people, all aged between 18 and 29, and will have plenty of free time in each location. Explore under your own steam or join one of the many optional activities on offer, from bike tours to cooking classes. All accommodation and transport, including three overnight trains, are booked for you. A group leader makes sure everything goes smoothly and can offer helpful tips and suggestions, but you will also have plenty of time to relax, eat, explore and make new friends.

Responsible tourism
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

We use local transport where safe, reliable and feasible, and when this is not feasible, use private, locally owned transport instead. We ensure our vehicles/fleets are well maintained and fuel-efficient.
This trip also includes three overnight train journeys, giving travellers an opportunity to travel like the locals do. Whilst it’s an efficient way to maximize time and sightseeing in Vietnam, we also like to include trains as a way to reduce the carbon produced by our passengers.
The Impacts of this Trip
Supporting local suppliers is a major part of our philosophy. We aim to use small, family-run hotels as opposed to big, well-known chains. Moreover, our amazing leaders will always suggest local eateries or smaller restaurants, and their strong local relationships mean they have the inside scoop on where to grab the best local delicacies.
We’ve seen Halong Bay become increasingly popular with tourists in recent years and the subsequent side effects of that popularity. This trip visits Cat Ba Island instead of Halong Bay in an effort to reduce the strain on Halong Bay’s environment and services. Cat Ba Island is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Halong Bay area with the same beautiful scenery for travellers to enjoy. Our local suppliers on Cat Ba Island are looking forward to welcoming more travellers to their island.
Our local leaders provide travellers with a survival Vietnamese language sheet when they join this trip. Words and phrases are listed phonetically as well as in English and Vietnamese. The leader runs through this list to help travellers become more confident with commonly used words and phrases. Travellers are able to be polite and friendly in their interactions with locals, using greetings like please and thank you to show their respect.
