Responsible tourism

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your holiday will help support conservation and local people.

We ensure our guides are mindful about protecting the environment in which you travel, and they do a fantastic job of promoting having a minimum impact to the environment whilst travelling. We ask you to be vigilant about disposing of your waste and recycle where possible. During your trip you will be asked if you have any waste to dispose of when it is a suitable time in the itinerary. This ensures we make it as easy as possible for our travellers to be eco-friendly whilst travelling. We strongly advise all travellers to bring a reusable water bottle - this is an easy way to save plastic waste and is detailed in our ‘What to bring’ trip notes for all trips to all destinations. Your guide will remind you where and when you can fill up your re-usable water bottle. We also encourage general sustainability - limited use of air-con for instance.

As a large section of this tour is wildlife focused, we have taken great care to ensure we support responsible and trusted organisations. The money tourism brings to Ranthambhore National Park helps to fund their tiger programme, which doubled the number of tigers in the park between 2004 and 2014, and continues to achieve vital successes in the preservation of this rare and beautiful creature, as well as many more endangered species. On the tour’s Chambal River Safari, we employ trained naturalists who not only possess the knowledge to inspire our travellers to care for the wildlife of the world, but ensure no animals are disturbed during the process.

The Impacts of this Trip

This tour includes stops in a number of cities, and in each, we employ a number of tour guides, providing valuable employment with fair conditions and pay to deserving and passionate local people. In addition, this itinerary includes stops at a number of local markets and bazaars, again, supporting the community through their businesses and trade. We firmly believe that the people of the local communities are who make these places special, and that they should benefit from our visit. Therefore, as first preference, we use local guides and locally-owned lodges, shops and eateries.

We support the communities in Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, and every other location on this tour by contributing to WaterAid. For every booking we receive we make a token contribution to this admirable charity. WaterAid works together with the Government, organisations and communities, to tackle challenges caused by a lack of access to clean, sustainable drinking water head on, and we are proud to support this charity.
