This trip takes you to the places where sometimes you will need to be cautious about the environment. Sometime you will need to walk, hike, and travel using donkeys. Some areas not reachable with means of transportation, so we will need to walk for some kilometers. Hayat village is a lovely place surrounded by mountains and high hills. You will be asked to be minimize your influence to the region`s flora and fauna. You may visit national reserve park, where you may see some endemic species under the risk of extinction. At guesthouses you will not provided regular bathtubs to avoid waste of water, and energy for heating. Also you may be asked to reduce the usage of water resources by using towels and bath towels more than once, to keep out of laundry. Water is heated using solar battery energy or/and some places use natural day-long sun-rays. At Yurts you may not have air-conditioning or only common premises such as dining room only can have cooling system.

Community

Also witness their thrive making their effort on changing their lives influencing the change of the lives of others. It is great to feel the mood and the atmosphere of people, who have not been yet spoiled or got used to tourists. Enjoy untouched, unreached by tourists destinations, helping them to make their lives economically developed. We visit some places which were founded and funded by international Non-profit organizations in the beginning and see how they are getting on nowadays. Observe their past and present. Transformation of the villages, rural districts into something bigger community, how they live and try their contribution to culture, tradition and mentality. They preserve primal crafts and customs, handling their knowledge on lifestyle from generation to generation. Meet local people exchange glances and attitudes, learn and teach. Become a part of a community; take a look at the circumstance and condition from their angle.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Climbing the Islam Khodja minaret (not for the faint of heart) and being rewarded with the most spectacular view over Khiva. Not too bad for my first day!

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Learn some pleasantries in Uzbek/Russian: few people speak English, and this is a great way to connect.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes: I only purchased items at locally-run/owned places and all of the accommodations were also locally operated. Additionally, I can speak some Russian so I was able to have (basic) conversations with local people, who were surprised and delighted to have a solo British guest. Such good people.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

10/10: an intriguing country, warm people, delicious food and an abundance of fascinating architecture. I plan to return. I very much recommend this tour operator, who not only organised a personalised tour for me (and a phenomenal guide), but made me feel welcome and safe.

Visit to Khiva

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Carefully study with interest the places where the tour company proposes to take. Not leave entirely with the tour company. They should tell the tour
company NOT to select restaurant and meal for them. Let the tour company give client a budget for meal and let them chose their meal with in that budget, if
any excess shall be paid the client. Trip to Aydarkol Lake was NO good Instead should include Aural Sea.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Not at all happy with selection of guide. He is an excellent, pleasant, sincere, honest and hardworking person. But lack experience and knowledge, 20 years of
age just started as guide. You can not expect more. He has done his best under the circumstances. We were very happy with him but NOT with the operator.
They should give us aged and experienced guide and NOT just a beginner. Second point preselection of restaurant and meal.
