Greece ancient monuments tour

Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

Environment

In this tour we visit Acropolis, Delphi, Ancient Olympia, Mycenae and Epidaurus. All our archaeological sites have a great historic importance and concern the whole world. Important people of the past lived many centuries ago here. All the buildings, monuments and artifacts, tell us about who was using them, how and why. All these people left us their unique cultural heritage! So we suggest our travelers to respect their life and their masterpieces, to keep historical places clean, not to make any marks on the land and not to remove anything from the ground or from the monuments. We advise them not to throw rubbish down; there are special trash baskets everywhere. We motivate them to keep their voice down, because many tour guides at the same time try to talk to their groups, so if we make a lot of noise, no one will be able to hear, neither we nor the others. All these are extremely important for us due to overtourism in these historical sites. All of us want to deliver this cultural heritage intact to the next generations.

In this tour we also visit the traditional settlement of Galaxidi, which is an exquisite coastal town, which is full of neoclassical buildings. Many painters have painted its narrow paved streets and its beautiful houses. All these are old buildings and many of them are renovated with local material and the famous Greek local stone. This is an opportunity for our guests to show their sensitinity to the architectural environment.

We also suggest to our travellers to say no to plastic bags, so we present them with a beautiful fabric bag as a gift. They can use the eco bag during our tours to put their water and souvenirs in. At the end of the tour, they can take the bag home as a remembrance of the journey.

In all our tours we visit family restaurants. Almost all the owners are our friends and we know that they cook with local and seasonally grown food, which is more delicious and healthy. Some of them have their own gardens, where they cultivate fruits and vegetables. We mention this, because this way is always the best for the environment, as it cuts down food travel miles.

Our goal is to make this impact as positive as possible!

Community

In all our tours, we try to share with our guests the information needed, so that they can understand the communities they are visiting, and create valuable opportunities for them to mingle and exchange thoughts with local people.

We encourage them to interact with the locals and the inhabitants of each place we visit, to talk with them and ask them everything they need. They will soon realize that everyone in this beautiful country wants to be helpful. Greek people are very social, they speak a lot and they are proud for their communities.

We suggest our guests, to buy delicacies, desserts and bread from local bakeries. This is an enriching experience for them, because in this way they will meet interesting people and experience the real Greek life! We also advice them not to visit big stores, where most items are cheaper, but imported from foreign markets. We encourage them to visit small workshops of Greek craftsmen. Greek artists and craftsmen love their work and create beautiful items.
On this trip we will visit an amazing winery in the central Peloponnese, where we will meet the two daughters of the family. Sandy and Tatiani will reveal to us to the secrets of their grandfather's old winemaking. We will also meet Maria and visit her workshop in Argolida, where we will have the opportunity to buy her beautiful silk scarves. Maria weaves her unique scarves, which are works of art, on her mother's old loom!

We strongly believe that travelers, who are sensitive to responsible tourism, like we are, will follow our advice.

In this way, they will enjoy their journey more, and us, we will help, as much as we can, our home country.
