Ancascocha 5 day trek in Peru

Carbon reduction

Your holiday will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this holiday and how to reduce them.

Environment

As another proof that we do is that we care about sustainable tourism, we take all the necessary steps to make sure the precious environment that brings so much excitement and awe to tourists is protected. We always recycle paper in the office. We always make sure we give a pre-trek briefing to our trekkers in our office before our trekkers start their trek so they don´t leave garbage behind or scare animals along the Ancascocha trek, as this is still a remote trail.

We use solar panels, lamps and biodegradable soap. Moreover, as we hate to see local communities being exploited, we always try to provide jobs for local people (all our employees along the Ancascocha trek are local) and always advise them to protect their environment as we do advise to our clients.

To not impact the environment and reduce the pollution we also use new vans to transport our trekkers to the start of the trail and we do the same to transport them back to their hotels at the end of their experience.

Our vans are always renewed every two years so we do not cause any pollution in our trek experience wherever we need to drive through.

Community

We employ local people and pay them a fair wage helping to put money into the local economy. All trekking employees are paid punctually at the end of each experience.

Our horsemen, horses and chefs for this particular trek are from the communities that we will pass through along the 5-day Ancascocha trek. By employing these locals, we make sure that they are the ones who get benefit from tourism.

They also have the opportunity to share their daily activities with the tourist who visit them as we visit their houses and families to do some homestay along the experience, as well as they have the chance to sell their textiles and crafts that they produce since Inca times.

We do have a great relationship with all the communities that we visit along the trip which makes us to put all our effort to change the life of the locals of who live along the Ancascocha trail.
